My prediction: New medium-sized patch with balance changes including updates to underpowered set/unique items and rebalancing of runewords, and a tease of more news later this year. Then an expansion announcement at blizzcon to capitalize on new china player base. I have Faith in matthew cederquist.
My guess: Microtransactions such as skins and more chest tabs. Some balance changes, maybe some new low level sets to make it up for that Chinese-exclusive.
And i'm hoping that's it, so they don't ruin the game.
I think Blizzard has no real intention to make D2R better. Since it is a direct competitor to D4. Of course, it could earn more money with D2R with loot filters, specialized stash tabs etc, but that would only mean that many people will have lots of more fun with D2R and never touch D4. Would be good for us D2 players but bad for Blizzard, as long as they don't fully commit to a Path of Exile financing system., which they will not do for D2R.
I don't expect much from this patch, but I hope I get proven wrong.
