Hey all,

I now wonder if this recipe is obsolete? The recipe should be:
Perfect Ruby
,
Ral
,
Armet
,
Horadric Cube
=
Blood Helm
. I believe this to be the correct recipe? The
Helm
,
Casque
or
Armet
need to be normal/White? Right? It's not working for me. I have tried this now with a
Helm
,
Casque
and
Armet
(separately of course) to only have the
Horadric Cube
smile back at me without results.

I've thought that my trying this on a sorceress was the issue(Even though I've done this in the long ago past)? So, I tried the recipe on a Amazon. No luck.

Did I not get the memo? Any help will be appreciated.

Recipe: Blood Helm

Note that the base item that is chosen as one of the ingredients must be of magical quality. The recipe will not work with just a base quality item.

OP
Thank you for the response. Interesting. I'll try the recipe with a Magical
Helm
,
Casque
or
Armet
.

ALL crafting recipes require the base item to be blue (magical). The jewel used however, can be magical, rare, or even unique.

I'm willing to accept Tokens, Keys,
Perfect Gems
, and certain minor runes (this changes regularly so please ask but usually
Eth
,
Nef
,
Sol
,
Ral
,
Hel
,
Lem
,
Pul
,
Um
) in lieu of my asking price when my "looking for" price is a rune.

OP
Yeah. It eventually worked.

Where I went wrong was reading off this page: *** diablo2.io/recipes/*** Hovering over the items in the picture on this page shows you White Items/normal Base. It even states "Normal Base", not magical. And there is no mention of a jewel. If you look at the picture on that page, it shows you only the
Ruby
,
Ral
and Item.

However, if you click on the
Blood Helm
link, it takes you to another page which gives the full information including: the Note as noted by another commenter and the need for a jewel.

Not a perfect world. Thanks for the assistance.

You're right. This overview page should list the jewels as an additional ingredient.

Before the "base" you see a blue "1", that is supposed to indicate that you need a magic item. But yeah, the design is not optimal.

Magic items don’t have their own individual entries in the database (same with rares). There’s only database entries for base, unique and set quality, so the recipe couldn’t point to anything else. That said, the recipes could definitely be clearer, by clearly saying that it needs magic items. It’s not the first time this has come up and it won’t be the last, I suspect.

I'm in CET (Central European Time), so that's UTC+1 normally and UTC+2 during DST.
My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.
My profile says Softcore, but I play both Softcore and Hardcore.
My Holy Grail Tracker is for Offline Hardcore.

And the jewel ingredient can't be displayed, either?

The jewel is mentioned on the database entry page for each individual recipe, but I really don’t know why it isn’t shown on the recipe overview. Could be a technical limitation of how many lines are displayed, maybe?
(and I can’t edit that either way, think only Teebling can, so he’d need to answer, really)

Thanks for all the responses and assistance. I got stuck between a rock and a recipe.
