Over the last few days the forum has been constantly flooded with topics from spam bots. I see that the moderators are trying to keep up with this and eventually delete such threads but the problem persists.
Of course I don't have a full solution to this but wouldn't it be possible to at least limit the number of new forum topics (not trades) that a new user can create so that one bot isn't able to create multiple pages of new threads? I see no reason why a user should create more than a few forum topics per day. Especially a new user.

If this doesn't also affect trades (because I am sure they can spam there too), then I am okay with it.
Or like many forums, do not allow posting until a few requirements are met. If you waste their time with these tasks, they will probably not go into doing this (most of them at least).

There's a lot going on behind the scenes here - mods made me aware of this issue on 23rd Dec and we've been in an arms race with this new attack ever since.
Lots of different layers of anti-spam tools are already in use - this particular vector is proving to be especially resilient.
Please have patience while mods and I work our way through the problem.
