Bovine & Amp Damage

My A5 Merc with %50 physical damage reduction gets SLAPPED by bovines post Amplify Damage curse. It's super annoying. But I guess there's no way to mitigate? This is /players7

PDR% from gear and skills works additively with the -PDR% from Amplify Damage and Decrepify curses. The merc normally has 0% DR, so Amplify Damage reduces him to -100% (and Decrepify to -50%). When he has 50% DR from gear, he is reduced to -50% DR when affected by Amplify Damage, which is the same as if he hadn’t had any PDR% and been affected by Decrepify.

On top of that, monster damage is increased by 6.25% for each additional player, so on p7 they deal +37.5% damage compared to p1.

EDIT: You can stack PDR% higher than 50. It is capped at 50, but the extra does help when cursed. Other than that, curse length reducing effects like Cleansing (Cure) and Fade helps. Not sure what gear he has and what makes sense to change. Giving him flat (integer) PDR, like leox mentioned, will help a bit too.

Yeah I think the Hell Bovine just slap way too hart combined with the curse. Is what it is. Not rich enough to x2 Ber a CoA for my merc to wear (have Vampire Gaze + ethereal Shaftstop).

Sol usually act like 4 % pdr, see if it can improve

I am also use vamp Shaftstop Sol x 2, even if its p1 , sometimes it still get killed.

Here is final possibility to anti amp scenario.

Shaftstop 1 Ber, 38
unique wp + Amn

You can test this by equip a regular White armor + 19DR vamp with nothing and Amn wp.

See if your merc can hold in your scenario. p7 without curse

with previous information, the amp kick in, you will act like equip DR 19 vamp. If it still fail, then well. no solution.(hell cow, 230 x 0.8~170)

Sounds pretty expected on P7 settings. Hard to say what can be done about it without knowing what build you're running. Is your merc Frenzy Barb and what's his gear like? And what's yours?

looks like, his merc, go up , get cursed and die petty quick. Per hit 240 hp gone (5 cow, -1k hp per second), looks likely need to drink 1 purple poiton per second. not sure how can he beat up this scenario.

Yes, I only read the initial post. Shaftstop and Vampire Gaze is about as good as you can reasonably get for gear that provides PDR without getting into super expensive/rare stuff.

Does your merc have lots of LL on his weapons? What does he have for weapons?

Is he having this trouble only against elite mobs of cows with AmpDmg, or all the time? Maybe bust out a Wand of lifetap just for the dangerous mobs? If you have Enigma or Teleport try repositioning your merc. Quick look at the map, Teleport to a nearby well to uncurse, or even quick TP to uncurse?

You forgot the defense part.

Also true. If he has enough strength, upgrading the Shaftstop might be worthwhile. Don't upgrade the Vampire Gaze though because sometimes the defense value goes down! lol

Another possible way is to go for Fortitude in an ethereal Sacred Armor.
Lvl 15 Chilling Armor gives a huge def bonus.
So with Iron Skin, the cows will almost never hit him.

Edit : 23k def with Chilling Armor up. If you're a sorc, don't forget to Enchant him so he has more AR, so he can leech more life.
