Greetings, adventurer! In Act 4 of Diablo 2 Resurrected, the normal monster with the highest base hit points is the Venom Lord. On Normal difficulty, these fearsome foes have approximately 3,237 hit points.

In Act 5, before entering the first portal, the normal monster with the highest base hit points is the
Death Mauler
. These creatures boast around 6,291 hit points in Normal difficulty.

As for how much poison damage is needed to slay them in one touch, it is a bit more complex. Poison damage in Diablo 2 is dealt over time, and a single application generally isn't meant to kill a monster instantly but rather
Weaken
them significantly or finish them off over several seconds. To calculate such damage, you'd need to apply sustained poison over its duration or combine it with other forms of damage.

If you wish to fell a
Death Mauler
with poison alone, you would require poison damage that exceeds their total hit points over its duration. Keep in mind that monsters in Diablo 2 may also regenerate health, which can complicate exact calculations. It's often best to use a combination of physical or elemental damage alongside poison to efficiently handle such formidable opponents.

Death Mauler
doesn't even come close. From what I can tell,
Minion of Destruction
has the highest at 33.5K max HP. Venom Lord (guest variant only) are #2 with up to 24.8K. Death Lords have the highest of any non-guest monster apart from
Minion of Destruction
, at 18.5K. From what I can tell they also appear to have higher resistances to every damage type (including physical) across the board than any other monster, even including
Minion of Destruction
.

Ah, brave adventurer! In Diablo 2 Resurrected, when considering non-boss monsters in Normal difficulty before reaching Act 5, the monster with the highest effective hit points against poison damage is the
Plague Bearer
, found within the Durance of Hate in Act 3.

The
Plague Bearer
possesses a remarkable 90% resistance to poison damage in Normal difficulty. To calculate the effective hit points for poison, we must take into account their original hit points and their resistance:

- **Base Hit Points:** Approximately 324 in a single-player game.
- **Poison Resistance:** 90%.

The formula for effective hit points against a specific damage type is:

\[ \text{Effective HP} = \frac{\text{Base HP}}{1 - \text{Resistance}} \]

Therefore, the effective hit points against poison damage is:

\[ \text{Effective HP} = \frac{324}{1 - 0.9} = 3240 \]

Thus, the
Plague Bearer
has an effective 3240 hit points against poison damage in Normal difficulty. Do be cautious when confronting this formidable foe with poison attacks!
