I have e fort on all my online characters mercenaries just because its easy to get, but offline I'm not sure if its worth the Lo.
I have 1.8 Ber runes right now and not sure if its worth using 0.25 Ber for a Fortitude before I get Enigma.
I have a 12%ed Eth Wire Fleece and a 15%ed Archon Plate, non Eth, i could make it in. But is it worth it over using Treachery or Hustle until I get Enigma and Infinity?

For what char / build ?
For a2 and a5 merc, Eth Forti is best in slot from my point of view, especially with the huge Enhanced Damage and Defense it provides, in 95% of cases.
For a1, BiS is probably Eth Hustle, slightly better than Treachery.
Treachery is still a nice, cheaper, non ladder option and the difference with the other two is not big.

for most builds the player does most of the damage so i like Hustle on the merc so the retard AI will keep up with me
If you want your merc to tank: Fortitude
If you want him to do damage or proc curses: Hustle/Treachery.
Easy as that.

There's a cheaper alternative for tank mercs: Guardian Angel + Kira's Guardian
If you are not on a budget, then Chains of Honor is simply one of the best body armors in the game for survivability.
Fortitude is great, sure. But I think it works better in the main character, especially a Barbarian using Grief etc.

You can also use Chains of Honor for melee merc without other life leech options.

Depends on your char's needs. D2R really made fort obsolete as a merc armor. It was the best choice for a lot of builds before, but even then, it was a bit of an unnecessary luxury. Save your Lo and make an infy/eni first imo.
Enigma and Infinity change the game, Fortitude does not. So I'd wait for Enigma esp. since you are so close already.

These days, I don't need that much Perfect Skull, it is less encourage to pay in Perfect Skull but it will treat slightly better than Perfect Gems.

Yes, you can make all "ladder only" runewords in offline single player.

okay that was my thought too. I'm up to 2.5 Ber runes now. Been a dry spell the last couple of days.
playing offline has been a lot of fun. Every drop feels so special lol. I'm so hoping I can keep 2 Lo runes available when I make my Enigma to make a Grief and a fort, but i may just focus on Infinity afterwards. I have a 4 sock Eth Mancatcher waiting already
