Can be used to make Runewords:

Bots. The answer is always bots.
Some player doesnt like play farming...
Is is very easy to get it with USD, especially in asia local service. Asia market sell Jah really cheap compare to US. Likely 3x difference.
I can see those in my local market , 0.7 USD per Jah. And I see half price in mainland but I am not familiar with that area trade.
It is something like 300 Jah 50~90 usd . Big volume purchase...
(while usa, it is 1.5 usd per Jah , I dont look very detailly , only peek.)
It is very cheap thing compare to modern mobile game, I assume that in mobile game play style, 5 usd in D2 able to makes you buy everything that have high price/ value, play like you are fully equip up. And mobile game, you literally didnt get anything in 5 USD.
This makes people want to pay small to enjoy play in d2r .
And it is not just bots, true reason is that Jah has no where to spend in late stage of game, it only going to increase and you cant use it efficiently.
The Jah value going down day by day.
Favor Perfect Amethyst over Perfect Skull...
These days, I don't need that much Perfect Skull, it is less encourage to pay in Perfect Skull but it will treat slightly better than Perfect Gems.

I am not sure this is entirely true. It seems to me the value of Jah has slightly increased in the last weeks or months. Not long ago you could get a Jah for 9-10 Ist. Currently it is mostly back to 12 Ist - at least from what I see (which is admittedly very limited
But in the end, the massive Jah volume on the market is of course due to bots (and "real money" shops). Since I started playing last year in June I found 4 Jah - and this seems to me to be very lucky, especially when you consider that I am only a "casual" player (none of my current three Chars are above lvl 97).
After a 20 year break from D2 I started playing D2R in 2024 with my sons (9 and 10 years old)

Places like jsp enable vast "generational" fortune over many many seasons with only few desirable items to spend on.
All prices are negotiable. All trades are Non-Ladder (unless explictly stated).
Please comment on trades or send messages before sending a friend request. I'm not always on Bnet, I might miss them.

Hi, I mean decrease value is that Jah against real world money, USD.oOKIWIOo wrote: 2 months agoI am not sure this is entirely true. Currently it is mostly back to 12 Ist - at least from what I see (which is admittedly very limited) I suspect one further additional factor is the "player base" which seems to decrease and therefore less people are trading. In my estimation especially prices for crafting materials (like Gems and low runes) are going down significantly.

In game, Jah increase over time, it was 10 Ist = 1 Jah, and it can reach 16 Ist = 1 Jah now.
That I find only 1 Jah in my entire play time.
Ist is different story, it produces more and use volume is not enough , over time it will decrease value against Jah but still has value.

Many people are playing since day one and with trade you can gain many Jah, but it's time consuming.
Than think about people doing trade since day one... They have tons of very expensive items.

Bots.
Incase you have missed it, d2 original and d2r are fully kept alive by bots. If blizzard would start to care about their products, they would go ahead and ban all botters, but that would then kill the game completely. They cant do that right?...
Id rather see this game closed completely than have it being this bot infested garbage, but the blizzard does not care.
the other way is to save a cup of coffee money that you can buy everything and play different char, build. That's bright side of end stage game.
Or stop play and come back after another 10 season and use coffee money to buy what you want . I think it will be easy to buy all peak item with coffee money.
At least , this is what I feel, I was come back from S1, it was very difficult to get torch. Likely several hundred of usd to buy 1 poor torch.(likely it was 1000 Jah in current value, drop to 1 Ist less after 10 season)

If I'd believe in any kind of deities, I would be praying terrible things to people who use money to buy their items.
that's not even allleox wrote: 2 months agoSome player doesnt like play farming...

you are focusing mainly on Jah prices, which are very high
if you buy jahs or any other runes on ladder, once the season ends they become non ladder.
also, there are way cheaper runes than Jah, which add up to Jah value for half the price.
chams, zods, Lo and Sur, with 2 or 3 each you easily buy a Jah, for cheaper than what you pay for a Jah. on g2g.com for example Jah is at £0.46 and Cham is at 0.092
with 3 chams I easily buy a Jah, for a bit more than half price of a Jah.
Buying runes seems ridiculous as well as items as the whole game (and ARPGs lootfests in general) is centred around finding the items. Personally I think trading is the best part.
That said I could see buying items for PvP in particular, as finding Jmods and optimal rolls can be a pain.

people are lazy, they don't want to farm, don't want to grind
a lot of new starters expect end game items, torches and stuff for free, because they see all the give-aways, which those give-aways are well intended, they kill the Hunger and it makes people think they are entitled.
people won't farm some keys or essences for some ists anymore, they just rely on luck and gifts. IN GENERAL.
back in the day you had to farm 30-35 yellow essences for a Jah, 15-20 tokens
now its less than half the value, and they still won't do it
I agree
it's the same for ladder and non ladder
problem is the same, people don't grind anymore, don't farm, dont experiment.
many players expect help and items for free, which to a degree is fine, but many become entitled.
I was selling some pala amazon and sorc torches, and a guy offered me a random Key for a low sorc torch.
I asked kindly if they could farm 2 more, 3 keys for a sorc torch is more than a decent price in my opinion.
I got a response saying it is too expensive
low lv market is difficult. torch might end up like Caster Amulet.Pitach wrote: 2 months agoI agree

sorc torch will maintain some value for time being. Some might build 4 sorc , the needs is huge.
unlike nec , druid torch....nightmare.
Sorc torch, just make price there, when someone start new sorc, it will be sell out. Dont need to worry too much unless you stack more than 10.
build a new sorc that you dont need wash this wash that . even if it gear up not so perfect equipment, as long as performance same, it is ok.

I mean to be fair though, it is a 25 year old game. ARPGs are already a niche and hard to get into as is, I can understand newer players not wanting to grind as it's something they're not really used to.
One thing that I would have liked to see at some point is the lower level uniques get a drop rate buff. I keep lower level uniques (Occy/ Peasant Crown/Sazabi/random belts and Boots) to drop for people when rushing, as trying to gear a new character is a pain.

2 more ways: Flipping and scamming.
Flipping: You buy cheap, you sell expensive. I know a guy who buys unid torches, IDs them and sells them. If you sell all at good prices, you make a profit. You need good market understanding and you usually focus on one thing.
In his case, he was using forum Gold for the initial purchases to get his "engine" running and when the ladder was 3/4 over, he sold everything for forum Gold. He does this every ladder and is "rich" now.
Scamming: You try to rip off other people. If it works you can get some valuable items per scam.
I don't get why people do any of this. Doesn't make sense to me.

Flipping unid things with terrible luck only makes you pay the price with no gains. Thats why personally have not gone after that.vued wrote: 2 months ago2 more ways: Flipping and scamming.
