Optimization of Weapons

Hi there. I have a Zealer and a

Frenzy Barb. Zealer is for general use and Barb is mainly used for

Travincal. I am trying to optimize the weapons i have.
I have
- a Death on an ethereal 15% ED

Ettin Axe + a Grief on a

Phase Blade + a 5 socket

Ettin Axe.
For ias on both chars,
- Treacheary armors on both chars.
-

Laying of Hands on both chars

1st option: Using Death on pala, buying

Phase Blade with 5 socket (for

Lem) and 2 Grief on barb
2nd option: Death + Grief on

Ettin Axe for barb, using current Grief on pala

I have 2nd Grief runes. 1st option costs me for an extra

Lem. Is it worth the cost?

You have other option, get a pb, make Grief.

Use 2 Grief on bar when you do trav run, and swap good Grief when you want play pala.

Death, I dont know how to use it. But Grief is very good , this way you can maximize your usage on the cost of Grief.

I think the general BIS in both cases is

Phase Blade Grief or

Phase Blade Grief +

Phase Blade Last Wish vs. Ubers (Death can be a budget Last Wish vs. Ubers )

Death is the best for Ubers because high crushing blow and deadly strike.
But you need IAS because it's slow.
I'm playing Death + Grief both in

Berserker Axe with 40 extra IAS and it rox !

Don't make Death in a

Phase Blade, you wont benefit from the nice +385 ed because low base damage.
It's like doing botd in a

Phase Blade.

Breath of the Dying

1st option definitely.

I agree, please don't make Death in a

Phase Blade.

For

Whirlwind, dual Grief

Phase Blade is best. Breath of the Dying + Death also works well. You can either do

Eth colossus swords/blades or berserker axes.

Ettin Axe is fine, but the ias breakpoint (89) requires you to

Sacrifice best in slot gear. As a substitute for botd, you can just use Oath for a while in whatever

Eth

Axe you can find

For

Zeal, Grief

Phase Blade is best. Death in an

Eth

Berserker Axe is also very very very good. Again the

Ettin Axe is fine but the ias breakpoint (80-86 depending on

Fanaticism level) can't be reached for certain setups, because you need ias jewels in your shield and/or armor

Death

Colossus Sword/

Blade is also very fun on a zealot with

Charge, but it's pretty niche and that's probably not what you are going for

Colossus Blade

My Zealot is using an ethereal Death

Berserker Axe, just because I don't want all my melee heroes to wield that ugly plastic sword.

Ettin Axe) on pala
2) Grief (

Ettin Axe) + Death (

Ettin Axe) on barb and Grief (PB) on pala.
For 1st option i need to buy a PB for a

Lem.
Based on comments, it seems worth buying a PB for Grief.

did it today, an hour ago... i mean, killed em solo in fanatic mode, but i am not satisfied. wasted too many fr potions fighting

Baal and needed a lot of time to kill him despite shocking aura helped to get rid of his minions. diablo was also not easy, but not even close as hard as

Baal.
... but anyway, i am slow player and this is my 1st uber run with him. playing now for month and a half after 3y pause. will be beter, i hope.
