Ladder has more content (currently ladder-exclusive RWs).
That's a non-argument since you can buy them in non-ladder.
I don't say ladder is bad or not, but if your goal is to be fully end-game stuffed, that's way more time consuming than non-ladder because you start from zero.
I totally understand people playing ladder.
Sounds like maybe u just gotta mix it up with some other games once in awhile dude. Anythings gonna lose its appeal if you beat it to Death enough.
oh i do. I left D2r since end of 2024 because of burn out..so rather than Fade away I found an alternative that came at a perfect time. Even spent xxx$ amount of money on it as a supporter. While it is a breath of fresh air and then some, i've also mixed other titles recently. Going back to BG3 campaign. TF2 for some mindless fragging. And very recently Clair Obscure Ex-33 & WH40K darktide with the massive sale campaign going on Steam atm.
I've beaten D2 to Death for countless times , quit and then come back - this is normal. Ever since it dropped on CD to LOD...-i still have the boxes stashed somewhere- i've lost count on the number of times my account on bnet "expired". Yes back then you can make multiple accounts with 8 slots each. The only caveat was you need to "perm" them and then continue to log in and play them once every 60 or 90 days i forgot.
So unlike D2r which MARKETED itself falsely as a live service, the other titles... 1 being a massive GOTY GOAT story campaign that continues to get 5-6 digit numbers consistently, another a F2P title with cosmetics that continuously gets updates, the 3rd a potential likely contender for GOTY 2025, and 40K is 40K.
So yea..it will take a sizable update & more to get my interest peaked for any Ladder play.
Updates and QoL would be cool but it was never about those things Skai, you know that too bud. I personally don't understand where is all this 'hate' coming from, you were an active member of this community (seen you often in the forums), I think we traded several times too and I thought you enjoyed the game same as we all do.
.Snip.
I do hope you'll find the interest in D2 again in the future, if not I wish you all the best gaming with whatever you choose to play. Cheers mate!
I was active because there was no title that could compete with it (not even D4.)...until fairly recently. I won't elaborate else i get more annoying PM's telling me what i should or should not advocate. Updates AND QOL are absolutely critical in the longevity of the game in terms of player count. For D2r it's about the 8P MULTIPLAYER dynamic, secure trading based on a RNG casino loot base system. People moved on from bnet classic because D2r done in spades in QOL and updates that vanilla didn't have. Let's not kid ourselves why we even spend 40$ back then, right?
The only consolation I have is that D2r wasn't suppose to happen...but it did so i'm grateful. Now if they (the new blizz) actually stay committed and follow up as they had promised instead of abandoning the title , demolishing the team that even made it into fruition & using it as a temporary proxy gateway to D4...man i just replay Sven's 'stupidly simple' speech all over again.
So there is no hate - just whole lot of disappointment.
P.S we did trade a couple of times...and i'm surprised i'm STILL #1 most active spot on trade stats here even when it's been some time LOL.
