IK Barb running ubers vs Frenzy/WW Barbs (inviting comments and comparison against other class)

Hi guys,

some histories on my Barb set up IK set experiments:

Finally at lvl 90 to try ubers, it's doable but it's an agony (takes a lot of skills apparently which I lack

Barb has
- perfect Annis
- 19/14 torch
- filled to brim with 10/11 max damage, ARs GC
- 3 x 5/20 sc
- plenty of 3 max damage, AR/lif sc
IK

Helm socket with
- jewel 9% damage goes to mana, +9 minimum damage

Lo (max 5% lightning resist)
IK armor socket with
-

Lo (max 5% lightning resist)

Concentrate damage is decent: 2.9k to 5.3k
AR more than 16k (21,22k with demon limp)
Lightning resist more than 300

weapon switch:
- lvl 6

Life Tap

Wand
- demon limp

A5 barb
-

Vampire Gaze (for DR/MDR)
-

Eth shadow Fortitude ~2.6k def
- Last Wish (

Life Tap +

Fade) + Lawbringer (

Cryptic Sword)

Technical strategy: basically

Howl, switch weapon to

Life Tap, switch back and

Concentrate attack which I might say takes super duper long....
My finger it is tired clicking down the mouse button. The whole ordeal probably took more than 10 - 15 min.... (I didn't check time but it certainly feel that way).

Of course one uber at a time


Finally did it using IK set but it certainly does NOT seem as easy as Iceman video. Do note his uber take down also took a long time (compared to smiter or Mosaic). But I certainly feel that I took longer than Iceman for sure.
This barb is my most expensive char to date. What I've spent on charms alone is worth more than 100 Jahs ...
Crazy but clearing speed is slow.....

Is it IK problem or melee class issue.

I certainly won't try doing ubers using IK set again. Maybe I'm getting too comfortable clearing Ubers with Mosaic. Even smiter seems slow in comparison. However having said that, I'd wanna try

Frenzy/WW barb (do a respec of course).

What's ur take?

Could be the increased defensive stat and uninterruptable attack?

You have enought defense as barb with

Iron Skin if you don't run (disable run when doing Ubers).

The lack of attack rate is why it's taking so long to defeat them.

I would just use plain

Whirlwind. And make sure you use the warcry that lowers defense until

Life Tap procs off your merc.

Or get a gavel of pain for Amp damage

I thought AR 21k is already very high.
Also WW (maxed) damage is ~500 to 800 less than

Concentrate but it doesn’t seem to move the needle like

Concentrate does.
Thus I stick to

Concentrate.

I didn’t use Gavel of Pain (and other weapon) for

Amplify Damage because wanna avoid any other curses possibilities that would override

Life Tap. Blind monsters doesn’t work on bosses so Last Wish own blind doesn’t override

Life Tap on bosses.

Again thanks for your sharing in our chats that encouraged me to keep trying.
I was about to give up using IK set until hearing from u that ur Barb WW Ubers to Death

Ww will permit you to hit more ofter than with

Concentrate.
The more you hit, the more you're doing crushing blow, the fastest you kill ubers.
Just look at best Ubers melee builds :

Frenzy, Fury,

Zeal, etc.

Concentrate isn't really the best to do ubers.

Ya, I thought so too. But from empirical observation, it seems that
1.

Frenzy/

Concentrate proc

Life Tap from Last Wish that using WW from Last Wish (I dual wield with Grief usually).

2. I did noticeably see that

Concentrate lower Uber's health bar faster than WW though

3. Lastly

Concentrate usually is net Mana gain due to % damage goes to Mana and also low

Concentrate cost.

4. Most importantly, I was not using Insight Merc so couldn't keep doing WW. Besides Act 2 merc can't tank Uber in my experience.


Question:
Do u keep drinking blue potion to keep WW Ubers? And how u keep your mana flowing to sustain WW

Also, from Iceman IK video,

Concentrate seems to do better than WW too which is what I've observed myself too. Maybe I not doing something right here....

Just switch to

Wand with

Life Tap charges.
I personaly use it even as

Frenzy so I can use

Laying of Hands.

You need many leech. Maybe on a ring.

I never played WW against Ubers but only as classic pve pre-1.11 or pvp. So that's just suppositions.
