Description

Hello! First of all, thanks for this great website. Since starting up D2R about a year ago, I'm sure I've enjoyed it a lot more than I would have without such a resource.

I often use this site to check whether or not my intuition about the value of an item is accurate or way off base, so I appreciate the item-specific pages that include "Prices and Demand" in particular.

However, I've been wondering: Is there any way to go from the trade history of an item to a specific trade "thread" that took place? It seems to me like we can only view the characteristics of the item and the price that was paid, but we can't view, e.g., the forum messages that took place between the involved parties. That would be very helpful to me, and I don't think it involves the publication of anything that isn't already public; it's just a matter of associating a thread with the trade in a way that can be followed through the UI.

I very well might just be missing something, but it seems like no elements of the UI actually navigate to the thread for the trade that took place. For example:
From this UI, can I get to the trade thread for a specific sale of a Mara's? (Maybe I think
Jah
is too expensive and I want to understand the context.)
From an entry like this in a "Price History" page, can I get to the thread where the trade took place?

I'm very small fry when it comes to D2R, but if this kind of functionality makes sense for development, or perhaps even exists already, I would be very happy to use it! Thanks.

AFAIK only for recent trades the messages are saved. If you click on "sold (last 3d)" you can see the complete data including the messages from the buyer and seller.
Once a trade goes to price history (after ~3 days) only the data you see in the price history is saved and you can't see the posts from those trade topics any more.

Yeah, that's required not to fill in too hardly the server database to purge some data.

However, when you're in the price history, you can mouseover the trade description to get more information - but does not go over 3-4 months when Teebling added that piece of info.

It seems you're both right, and I now understand the history functionality much better. Thank you!
