How can you do so many dclone runs in one day? There have been times where my character is just sitting in a game for 4 hours (while im working), I come back and nothing. Does dclone spawn much more frequently on PC than xbox? I'm excited to see one dclone in a week.Necrarch wrote: 2 years agoIt's Thursday, I'll close on this giveaway tomorrow at noon CEST.
I'll then start doing the givings, but this week-end will be a little busy so don't be surprised I contact you back only on Monday for the winners.
I am very happy and moved by the many stories that I could read, laugh with (the full STR necro is so funny!) or touched. Thanks to all for sharing these bits of life around D2 - it's really a good game !
Also, I would like to greatly thank @mockingbirdreal who has proposed to add a few more Vex to the pot, increasing the winning chances of the participants.
Continued, I have caught a bunch of Annihilus today. Bad ones... So if you also want an Anni, just edit your post saying so. Considering how many I fished recently killing DClones with my sin, your chances to get at least one is close to 100%
Finally, to help me contacting you if you happen to win, please be sure to have your Bnet tag well filled in in your profile !
Cya tomorrow for the winners !

I'm willing to accept other forms of currency. Like Tokens, Keys, Perfect Gems, and certain minor runes in lieu of my asking price. I'm also willing to accept rune combinations that add up to my asking price.

- dclone does not depend on platform... but on region. And EU runs once a week, but Asia about once a day or more these days.
- and homeworking often so camping is quite easy.

One night, about two years ago, I had a strange Dream. I dreamt of a Javazon running through the Worldstone Keep, electrocuting the minions of hell with showers of sparks. The last time I had played Diablo 2 was probably a decade earlier, so this was certainly out of the blue.
The next day, I did a search online, and discovered that Diablo 2 was being remastered and was less than a year from release. I pre-ordered straight away, and when it came out, I made a lightning Javazon.

Good story my dude. Even better to know you're doing well.Giomanach wrote: 2 years agoThis is the story of how Diablo 2 saved my life.
Growing up, my dad played computer games as his sole hobby. He instilled a love for gaming in my two older brothers and I. As soon as I was old enough to reach the mouse and keyboard from our office desk chair, I was cutting my gaming Teeth on titles such as Commander Keen, Tank Wars, and Wolfenstein 3D. Gaming was what defined me. I loved every second I got to spend playing my games.
School life, however, was not as pleasant. It turns out that being a computer gaming geek in the mid 90's in California didn't make you popular. I was beaten up, called names, bullied mercilessly. I had few, and sometimes no friends. I hated school, and I didn't make much effort. I learned the material, but I didn't do the work. So I would fail tests and have terrible grades. My parents would then punish me by taking away the only ray of hope in my life: my video games.
I became depressed, and started to consider extreme actions. On the worst days, I thought about ways to end it all. It became a cycle, get my grades up to earn gaming back. Survive for a little while knowing I had that to look forward to. Then my grades would slip again and I would lose my games and consider ending myself. Rinse, repeat.
In 97, Diablo 1 came out and I instantly fell in love. 3 years later and Diablo 2 had arrived. And it somehow exceeded its predecessor and blew my mind. I immersed myself in it. I would sneak to the computer in the middle of the night to play some more. I would spend every minute I was allowed playing Diablo 2. But the cycle still continued.
When I started high school, I had hopes that things would change. It didn't start out well though. Some of my bullies had followed me, and I was just as depressed as ever. I would spend my school hours writing ideas for character builds in my binder. One day, a classmate I had never spoken to saw my drawing at the top of the page, the Diablo II logo. He sat down and started talking to me about it.
I couldn't believe it! Someone else who shared my interest! We became fast friends, playing hours and hours of Diablo 2. But even better, he helped to motivate me to do well in school so that I didn't get punishments. And he was the kind of guy that my bullies didn't mess with. After a while, they just stopped trying to mess with me. My life had changed completely. Since then, I haven't considered suicide even once.
I will always remember how Diablo 2 helped to pull me out of my crippling depression. Thank you Diablo 2, and thank you Ben, the friend who dragged me up from the bottom.
And thank you for taking the time to read my story.
I installed D2 so often that I still remember the original pass code - ~20 years after the last time I installed it.

25 years before I had a "remote" relationship with my boyfriend. It was not something like terrible like USA vs. EU or so, I was in Košice (Slovakia) and he was in Prague (Czech Republic), but we were on the school and did not have much money - so we were sometimes even x months alone and then we were x weeks - months together, 24/7. When we were together, he often played D2 and I was sad we are not doing something together, but he told me we can not have sex 24/7
(OK, in fact it is not always easy to be together x weeks all the time, does not matter how do you love each other.. and we did not have so many same hobbies). So I started playing D2 and we were playing together, maybe it saved our relationship
...
Last year when he was angry I am always working, I told him we could play d2r together again if I have PC, so he bought new PC for my birthday. It has red lights as I wanted and there are two lego dragons inside (it was his idea, daughters made them).
For a while we were playing together - he, me and older daughter, but she stoped later, she prefers others games.
We are not playing even with Alex today very much, because we prefer different playstyles, so we just sometimes help each other. BUT..
This year that daughter needed to create JS school project, so we decided we can do it as family project and she will create d2r items page for tracking found items (husband created API for her and I was helping with JS). I think it was cool, I loved working on that and I think it was great family activity (ok.. she hates programming so probably it was not so big fun for her as for us).
So d2 is really important part of my life

A game has never saved a relationship of any kind in my own experience, but it is and has been for a long time the only thing keeping myself in the living books for as long as it is needed to.
Had I not had PC and video games, this would of have ended a very long time ago. Just trying to be here for as long as my parents no longer are around.

I've got a story that's pretty sad, but turns around and may be long winded.
When i was a teen I played d2 with some of my high school buddies. We were in a HC clan and i had a 99 barb, a dead 98 sorc, and a dead 99 amazon. My amazon died when my mom came home one day and wanted to use the phone so she just unplugged the phone cord line to the pc. You guys remember dial up internet right?
Well I was rushing a friend through hell and she unplugged the modem while i was in maggot lair. 2 hours later when she got off the phone I logged in and saw my Eth titan, storm shield, vamp gaze 99 hc javazon dead. and I stopped playing for a long time.
Not d2 related - but a gaming story still. When I was 25 I was married and my wife was pregnant and she ended up having complications and both her and the baby passed away - she was 24. My life got completely flipped upside down. Recent college graduate in a decent starter job out of school, we were planning to buy a house and start our life and just absolutely had everything up ended.
I turned to play World of Warcraft as my life slowly started to deteriorate after that. After about a year of playing WoW I met someone in our raiding guild and we really hit it off. It didn't start as anything romantic, just a friendship. and over 6 months we got close, and she knew my whole story.
Fast forward 13 years later and we have been married for 10 years, have a daughter, a house, etc. Playing WoW literally turned my life around in a way.
Now my daughter likes to watch me play d2r on my ps5 and she picks up the 2nd controller and pretends to be Emilio and Heatholaf (a5 merc). She also plays WoW with me. She has a paladin that she flies around from Booty Bay back to ratchet, up to orgrimmar. and we run around boats and kill boars together and stuff.

I used to play Diablo II a long time ago. Back then, someone somehow brought the game into my life, and out of curiosity, I decided to install it again. As soon as I started playing, I was drawn in by the game's atmosphere, it was so captivating that I couldn’t stop exploring it.
At the time, I had no real idea how to build a proper character, but I kept farming, looting, and progressing through the game simply because it was so enjoyable. Eventually, I stopped playing due to a lack of time.
When Diablo II: Resurrected was released, I felt it was the perfect time to revisit the game. Although the vibe is a bit different from the original, there’s still something magical about it that keeps pulling me back. I even start to trade with other this time and find it time saving for the getting an endgame gears with trade.
Personally, I believe Diablo II is the best game Blizzard has ever produced in the Diablo series (Diablo III and IV don’t even come close).

D1 was a great novelty and a superb game for its time but had a lot of drawbacks.
D2 pretty much fixes all the problems with D1 and adds even more fun stuff.
i haven't touched d4, but d3 just didn't captivate me the same way. It had a TERRIBLE launch, the RMAH was a nightmare, game difficulty was insane at the very beginning. I dunno.
I went back and played it again later and some of the seasons were fun, and the crafting was okay but d2 just scratches the itch better.

I guess the Vex prize is from 2 years ago but it seems people are just posting their stories here anyway for the lols. Here's mine:
I started playing Diablo 2 when I was 13 after seeing a friend playing LoD. They were in Canyon of the Magi playing a Barbarian, and kicked a pot and out came Azurewrath. They were so hyped about the unique item drop that it made me want to play. I ended up buying the game that week. I had an argument with them a week later - they claimed that they had also gambled another unique item from Gheed - I thought they were lying ( Gheed had only ever given me a Rare at best and I thought it was impossible). I was wrong of course!
My first play through was (also) a Barbarian called Harr. He couldn't beat Duriel until level 30, and used two socketed Axe with Chipped Gems in them.
It's been 21 years since that day. diablo2.io is the fourth (and only successful) Diablo 2 fan website I attempted to launch over the years. I never knew it would become such a big part of my life.
