Infinity base question that has been debated ad nauseum :)

I am about to make an Infinity for my Summon Necro's A2 merc. Am I really going to notice much of a difference if I make it in an Ethereal

Thresher vs. making it in an Ethereal

Mancatcher? I am of the belief that

Mancatcher is usually the best base due to the faster speed for CB procs, but are we just splitting hairs here? I figure with so many summons, it might not be as noticeable as it would be on a character like my Javazon, which is just her and the merc/valk running around.

I'm not a min/maxer I swear xD

Pavke is the hero we need, but don't deserve His answer really does follow the vein of every other answer to pretty much every other D2 question.

If you don't want to spend much, go for

Stygian Pike base (all my Infinity are on this base - all ethereal and self made)
You will get you an overall good damage (same as

Great Poleaxe), and you can buy a unsocketed one as it will get 4 Socket with

Larzuk quest (the only other base with this advantage is

Colossus Voulge but Merc can only use

Colossus Voulge on high level or with a huge str bonus from other equipemets... - and

Colossus Voulge is slow...)

I already have the

Thresher so I figured it might as well use it. This is all good info!

Ok so after crunching all these numbers, my consensus is that if I am playing on players1 and farming random areas (not just one specific boss/area) then it probably won't make much of a difference between

Mancatcher and

Thresher. I do believe overall,

Mancatcher is king, but I'm not sure I'm going to notice or care

Of course, now that I think of it, the

Thresher would also make a great Insight base, both my Insight mercs have non-ethereal polearms. Probably won't do that but it's worth thinking about lol
