Flickering Screen with VSync

Since the beginning of thr year I have an issue with flickering screen while VSync is enabled. This is especially noticeable at locations with dark background like Rogue Camp. First I thougt that were special firework effects of the new years event .

I suppose this has something to do with an Windows 11 Update , version 24H2 I made on 29th. In this update Microsoft made some changes regarding Dynamic Refresh Rate (DRR). I have a NVidia RTX 3080 TI GPU with GSync enabled which was working perfectly fine before.
Unfortunatly the removing of this Update isn't that easy to roll back. I updated drivers and tried some changes on the Win Settings without success.

I wonder if anybody else facing this issue or even have an idea how to fix it.

Edit: Actually I want to show that issue in a video but if I capturing the screen it doesn't flicker.

I have Vertical sync disabled to get faster loading screens.

Try swapping cable if you have extra one
Also new nvidia drivers? Since the new ones have to sell making older cards worse isnt out of the question

Cant really help but the game is poorly done.
It cant handle youtube in the background, I have to change from processes the D2r priority to real time instead of normal. Otherwise d2r stutters and has lower fps and youtube stutters.
I also cant stay near shenk (or what ever act5 1st wp down the stairs the guy with an army was) after it dies, as the meteorites etc. what ever cannonfodder falls down; it always tilts and crashes the game for me. No idea why this happens.
I play everything maxed out and should easily be able to run this game without issues.
4080 rtx with everything up to date.

I play in a window. Before I turned off g-sync for D2R (so not globally, just for D2R in the control panel) switching to other windows without minimizing D2R caused them to stutter (like scrolling in the browser and such). Since I've turned off g-sync for D2R my problems are gone.

Hehe, these times are over for me. No more playing without vertical sync and (x)-sync

Seems like 24H2 can cause issues with certain games (from reading about it online). I installed the update by mistake and did a rollback becuase COD and D2R became very unstable for me... constant BSOD.

V-sync adds input lag so tend to avoid it. I had same issues as uuee had with stutter on a second monitor, disabling g-sync for D2R fixed the problem.

Hope you find a fix soon.

you have instant load ? or it takes some seconds ? with Vsync on, i still load pretty fast, but without it i shave of maybe 1 max 2 seconds, didnt time it but i could feel it.

This, so much. 24H2 and D2R don't play nicely together on some PCs, like mine. I got a Brand new gaming PC back in November, and it came preinstalled with Windows 11 24H2. The PC would lock up completely (the monitors would freeze completely) while playing D2R normally (D4, on the other hand, was fine). Sometimes it would only freeze for a few seconds, or a few minutes, sometimes it would unfreeze after an hour or two (with D2R back on the splash screen with some connection error). Sometimes I didn't care to wait. Maybe it always would unfreeze eventually if I just waited long enough, no idea. Anyway, after I reinstalled Windows 11 with 23H2 (and using Windows Group Policy Editor to lock it to the 23H2 update and to not try to install 24H2) the PC is completely fine. No issues whatsoever. At least two people I know via Discord have had the exact same freezing issue on 24H2 and the exact same fix to resolve it (reinstall with 23H2). No idea if this is relevant to the OP, but I thought I'd mention it.

Thanks guys for the input. So it seems my guess with the win update isn't that wrong, which means my hardware is probably not the cause. Microsoft have a huge problem with quality management since at least 2 years I think. In the meantime another update brings new problems with it. Mostly useless features and unwanted breaking changes.
So I could either put a lot of effort to reinstall Win 11 with 23H2 or live with these bugs and hoping some of the next updates will fix this. In the long term I couldn't stay on 23H2 anyway because the lack of security updates.

I didnt have flickering of any kind, but my game stuttered (dropped fps) constantly and made youtube lag out hard. ONLY way to fix it was to change D2r priority to real time instead of normal. This makes no f-cking sense.

Personally stayed away from the 23H2 update still as it had been very buggy. I wait for week or two mor
