I use The Grandfather and Doombringer but other than that, this is my build, and actually it is far more efficient with double Grief. Charms are not fixed, any 3 max damage + life, attack rating, magic find etc. small charms, 6 max damage and with the same mod large charms or 10 max damage and with the same mods grand charms are good to go. Or near of them.

The guides normally go for max damage + ar charms

* I trade both ladder and non-ladder, please check before asking.
* All my trades are for runes, keys (especially KoT and KoH) and essences!

For attack builds, with very few exceptions (comes to minds now only
Windforce
, Ethereal upped
Ribcracker
, Ethereal
The Reaper's Toll
), your end game best weapon will be a Rune Word 🤔
Best weapon for WW is
Phase Blade
Grief (if use dual weapon) or a Ethereal Breath of the Dying (if use 2h weapon)

OP
so focus on assembling max dmg + ar grand charms with dex or strength for dps ?

I'd rather go with str. If you chose to use Grief
Phase Blade
, you should invest enough dex anyway.

My end game build would be something like this:

https://maxroll.gg/d2/d2planner/bf5wf03i

Not much AR, so you better be very high leveled. Gores are better, but I like having a decent amount of mf for PVM. 37FCR feels a lot better then 20, for me it definietly worths it (i made the sheet without godly items and med rolls, ofc you can get better rings to achive that:P).
3K life rest str. Having a decent mana pool is quite comfortable (~600+ if you can). 75ias, CNBF, reaper merc to gain advantage of your FCR.

Do you have to chug mana pots or not really?

Well, I only played it in LoD, but with a decent mana pool, high damage, and leech somewhere was basically enough. Sometimes a pot here and there but not regularly.

I got one and rarely use a potion, coz the char is on double leech and dmg.

I tried, but the radius is very short 🙁
If you just "play normal" you will rarely get the bonus.
You have to keep seeking your Merc ... which is pretty annoying...

That's true too, I'll have to experiment with it and see how it goes.
