Player slot count in public games

If Memory serves me well, there used to be a number showing available slots in public games in LoD. Any ideas why there is no such information available in D2R?

As far as I know, they never did. They just showed the number of players, which is still shown in D2R but with a Ping indicator to the right and

Terror Zone to the left.

I should have been a little clearer in my question. What I meant is, there is no showing of the maximum players set by the host for a given game.

They never did it, as far as anyone can tell. They merely displayed the player count, the same as in D2R but with the addition of a Ping indicator on the right and a

Terror Zone indicator on the left.
