Description

Hey,

i am on single player and want to go for some uber kills.
I have a level 82 Paladin, which is actually skilled as hammerdin.

Becausei it´s single player, i am short off some helpful stuff like Guillaumes,
Raven
, Highlords and Dracs.

So my equipment for Ubers would look like this:

Helm
:
Tal Rasha
(maybe umed, but don´t wanna waste larzaruks)
Armor: Duress (prebuff with Treachery possible)
Weapon: Grief PB with 35 ias (been lucky to find a
Lo
)
Shield: Spirit Sactred
Targe
with 44@ (maybe i
Hel
it to 4 Perf Diamonds?)
Gloves: Death´s Hand
Belt
: Death´s Guard (CNBF)
(togehter they give15@ + 30 IAS for maximum attack speed)
Boots
:
Goblin Toe

Amulett: Saracens Chance
Ring 1:
Dwarf Star

Ring 2: some Rare with useful stuff

charms: some resi small charms, but nothing spacial

Switch
Weapon: Life Tab
Wand

Shield: good Blocking Shield

So here´s the question:
I am pretty sure, this would work with a full skilled smiter. But what about a hammderdin with only 1 point in
Smite
?
I would go with full skilled
Concentration
(i dont need any ias from fana) and 1 point in
Salvation
for
Mephisto
.

Can be used to make Runewords:

I'm sure others will be around soon, but I think you'd be okay with that much Crushing Blow chance.

Looks solid at first glance, but note that your amulet may overwrite
Life Tap
at any moment.

Good point. Gonna switch to a magic @ amu.
Thanks for your replies. I‘ll give it a try.

Heyo fellow holy knight.

1st it seems you have done your homework based on the items you have and items you pointed out that you were missing; thats excellent

Im a lvl 90 zealot (was mid 80s my 1st uber trio slaying), as such i know diff builds but this may help.
Grief (356),
Um
'd gface, up'd
Um
'd hoz,
Metalgrid
, draculs, Duress (w/ Treachery
Fade
proc), tgods (only for meph then swapped),
String of Ears
(i know ll doesnt work on ubers), goreriders, 1 pcomb skiller, rest of charms were diff resistances)
Maxed fana,
Holy Shield
,
Zeal
,
Sacrifice
, 1 point in each def aura to get
Vigor
, 1 point into
Salvation
(for those hard ele fights b4 i got my end gear or for use w/ multi pallys)

Only 1 point into
Smite
was just fine for me, but maxed
Holy Shield
allows my
Smite
to do lots more damage (coupled w/ max fana), than your 1 point will (w/ no fana). Totally doable, you just gotta smack them around a bunch more
The "roadblock" i see here is your fight will be extended in time due to lower
Smite
damage (which is totally fine w/ draculs) & lower crushing blow/open wounds #s, while relying on a
Life Tap
Wand
. Your fight will take longer so you will be more reliant on
Life Tap
. If you good at hotswaping for a cast and back, then no real issue, but be very ready to recast cuz these uglies are super nasty w/o
Life Tap
.

Also I used a 2/3/3 cta for prebuff, which you didnt mention. Def can be done but obv less hp just means you gotta pay attention more. Warning i had 1.9k hp w/ ~ 16.5k def and
Lilith
took half my hp from 1 of her crits( im assuming was a crit)

300(310 lightning if using tgods) all res is what you need to counter meph's conv. Best interest to seperate him and slay him outright b4 messing w/ other 2. You dont have the gear to tank all 3 at once (unless you wanna chug full rejuvs by the second)

Lilith
(very poisonous + hard single strikes) and Meph (conv + endless spawns) only 2 that gave me any trouble. The others were fodder for me.

Good luck slaying the uglies and fulfilling your holy destiny!

Agreed with Khegan. Ditch that amulet.

Generally speaking, smiter ubers are pretty easy if you know what you're doing, regardless of whether you have 1 pt in
Smite
or a full smiter build. Your goal for relaxed ubers would be something along the lines of:
- At least 1 pt in
Smite

- At least 7 frame
Smite
speed (your Grief has you covered on that, your Death set actually drops you to the 6
Cap
)
- Some sort of
Life Tap
: ideally drac's or better yet Exile so it just reprocs and you don't have to bother switching over to (re-)apply a
Life Tap
Wand
Charge
(yes, you can finish ubers without
Life Tap
and just pots but tap simply makes it far more relaxed and you don't need to worry about any of that)
- Some sort of crushing blow as your main dmg (the more the better but even 15% will do)
- Some sort of open wounds to stop regen (PMH doesn't work on ubers; since
Smite
never misses and OW stays up a while, you don't need a lot of it rly, 10% is perfectly fine)
- At least 50ish all res against meph: his
Conviction
hits at -125 for fire/cold/light so that's 275 res wanted, 1 pt in
Salvation
tends to have you covered if your gear doesn't already get you there
- At least 1100ish life
- Anti-freeze

You can get by with less. But the combination of the above is about when it starts being chill, even when you accidentally pull more than 1 of them.
Personally, I like to also get some dmg to mana on my smiter's gear (or an Insight merc), solely because
Baal
's mana burn otherwise gets annoying but that's pure lazyness..any pot and/or more patience will do.

Less than the above = can probably still do it but may have some close calls (or not)
More than the above = obviously better and more and more relaxed but largely what it does is take you from "not dying" to "definitely not dying" and from "decent kill speed" to "excellent kill speed".

Looking at what you noted about your gear, you should be perfectly fine on kill speed and have most bases covered. Really only 2 things stand out:
- As already noted, get rid of the saracen's to avoid it overriding your
Life Tap

- Doublecheck your resistances. No idea what your 2nd ring adds and how many charms you have but only with the gear you noted, you're quite low on fire and uncapped on light. Against meph, you're way too low. Not counting 2nd ring/charms, 1 pt in
Salvation
(if you have that) should put you at -31 / 34 / 4 / 75 against him which would come with a very real risk of being 1shot as your life pool is (guesstimating) likely also still somewhere around 1-1.1k. Unless you do want to bother with your Treachery prebuff in which case you'd (with 1 in
Salvation
) be largely fine against him with merely fire being a tad low. But since fire only comes from some of his summons and not meph himself, that'd be fine.

OP
Hey Lads,

thanks for the responses.
A little feedback:
I kicked the amu away and changed to Mahim Oak Oak Curio for some @.
i´ve a ~20 fire,20 litghning rare ring which became my ring 2.
Lend about 5 sc between 11-15 life and some sc with resistance, which increased my fire and lightning resistance by ~ 30/20 from my 2 other chars.

Duriel
: cakewalk, even forgot lifetap
Izual
: Cakewalk, walk to him was a bit annoying (forgot my Najs Staff; Next time :-) )
Lilith
: Ok, needed one Lifetap recast and some potions

Mephisto
: killed him durng first phase of casted
Life Tap
, so killspeed is absolutely ok (Grief helps a lot, obviously), then i´ve been killed by his mob :-).
Ball: Manaburn + the summoned Ghosts are a bit annoying, been killed once, but took him down after that with no further problems.
Diablo: same as
Mephisto
, the bunch of summons killed me after i killed him.

So a perfectly skilled and equipped smiter would be faster an safer for sure.
But i´d say it was not much slower or less safe, than doing it with a nice equipped
Frenzy
barb, Fury druid or kicksin.
