Ornate Plate

I have a question

I just found myself an

Eth superior

Ornate Plate 15ed no sockets

Now I think this might be worth something if I upped it to

Sacred Armor and got 4 socks in it, am I right?

Now the question is before I waste resources on it, because my knowledge of this game isn't as vast as some of you on here:

If I up it with the cube to

Sacred Armor, and then

Larzuk it, will I get 4 sockets? I found it in a normal popable in

Lower Kurast hell.

I think as it is the iLvl is ok for 4 sockets, but what will happen when I cube it? will it change to iLvl 1?

Hang on a sec, can you even upgrade white base items using ? I thought these kinds of recipes only upgrade base items 'inside of' Uniques and Sets.

Edit: Yeah, sorry OP but I don't think you can upgrade the white item. You'll have to find the same 14 ED 4OS

Can you actually up base items in the cube? That sounds weird to me

You can only upgrade Rare/Set/Uniques. Cannot upgrade base/magic items

Eth ornate is very high in defense(777) compared to a good chunk of the elite versions. nice find. definitely usable for fort.
