Weird key drop rate.

Hey, I know it's RNG, but I used to get more consistent outcome in the past.

I started running

The Countess in Hell before

The Summoner and

Nihlathak. Guess what?
I barely have any

Key of Terror. I did I did less than 50

The Countess runs before I started going

The Summoner and

Nihlathak. After that, I started counting them.

After 97 runs (each time I farm all of them, and in very little cases I die on

Nihlathak just due to my stupidity) - I dropped 2

Key of Terror, 10!

Key of Hate and 3

Key of Destruction.

Anyone else has this weird feeling they changed the

Key drop rate?
I usually could give

Key of Terror away for free, now I got to trade to get them.

They definitely have not changed. I highly recommend running them on p7 if you can find full games and you'll see a HUGE change.

Also fwiw, I run

Nihlathak almost exclusively (he has the best drop rate) and ive gone 130+ runs without a

Key. And ive also gotten 5 keys in 3 straight runs.

97 runs isn't enough to average out drop rates when it's like 1/13, 1/12 and 1/11. Need to get to like 1k.

"weird feeling" is the

Key term here. rng is very abstract and hard to grasp and even harder to imagine.
so no change, just your mind playing tricks on you.

Feels the same to me. I have hot streaks and I have long droughts. Same as before.

How often do you

Key run though?

I had 22 D keys drop on day 2 of ladder and that was over maybe 300 runs? So just below average.

Back before ladder, I did like two torches per day worth of

Key sets, selling them for

Gul to accumulate reliably a

Vex/day. Thats how I afforded my

Jah for my first Enigma (roughly

Lo

Lo

Ohm back then, or 20 torches worth of

Key sets selling unid torch for

Gul).

Now I know better, so I mostly run

Travincal, and only will start running keys once my smiter gets up and running (almost there he is lvl 80 and fully geared).

Back then people were still complaining about not getting the 1/12 chance reliably, and how drops had changed.

While I have not done too many runs recently, had partial sets sold as consequence of farming countess for runes and 2 complete

Key sets to prove my barb could reliably farm ubers (Grief/Death

Demon Limb and dual angelics, with Treachery/Duress combo).

Check out some RNG histograms, they are not random They will definetly be consistent in some ways, and after certain amount of rolls, you'll see that.
I played diablo 2 for years, and d2r drops, especialy recently feel really weird.

The only hunch that I may have is that they increased the drop of lower runes (

El to

Ith) in Hell, as I have seen many more

El s than I remember, this being even more with

Eld (which I had not seen many in Hell before). It may just be RNG tough.

It took me 110 runs to get my first

Key drop from Summoner back in March or so, if that helps put it in perspective. Then the next couple

Key drops came after 10-15 runs or so each. RNG can be a BITCH.

RNGesus is a fickle lord. Today I've done 50-60 countesses and have gotten 1
