Berserk completely converts damage to magic damage so you cannot steal life/mana with

Berserk, even with

Life Tap.

You don't take damage from

Iron Maiden and

Thorns if you just go "

Berserk". Because they only reflect physical damage, not magical.

For the stated duration afterward, your defense is zero. You also do not receive the

Iron Skin or Dexterity bonus. You can still block as if you are using a shield, however. A defense of 0 will let you block all the time, thus quite often hinder you from doing anything else. Consider not wearing a shield.

Converts 100% physical weapon damage to magic damage.

Conversion occurs after +% Damage and a critical hit from a weapon Mastery,
Critical Strike or Deadly Strike are applied and before resistance is applied.

Damage Resist won't affect converted magic damage but Magic Resist will.

No damage is returned with
Thorns,
Iron Maiden and
Spirit of Barbs, no life is returned by
Life Tap and % Life Stolen per hit, and no mana is returned by % Mana Stolen per hit.

Defense debuff is applied on attack, regardless of whether or not that attack is successful.

Debuff duration approaches a second by level 60, when attacking continuously it should normally be reset long before it expires.

Defense debuff is applied to user after +% Defense but before + Defense vs Melee and + Defense vs Missile, so defense is not 0 when equipping items with those bonuses.

+(1-3)
Berserk (Barbarian Only) cannot normally spawn on ilvl >36 primal helms.
