Description

Fire Tower take some time to turn around. Run around it so that it is firing directly away from you. Hit it a few times until it has turned 90 degrees. Then run around to the other side so that you are right behind the direction it just fired. Repeat until the Fire Tower is destroyed.

Fire Towers drop no items, give little experience (due to level difference penalty), have a lot of Life, and are highly resistant to almost every kind of attack, so many players avoid them.

You cannot steal Life or Mana from Fire Towers. Fire Towers do not regenerate health.

Lore

Originally created by wary caravan traders to act as unmanned sentries, these devices soon found favor amongst anyone who was interested in safeguarding their domicile.

Although they were designed to emit fireballs whenever a magical field was crossed, these fields do not seem to activate when crossed by demons.

Unfortunately, this makes a Fire Tower totally ineffective as a defensive measure against the minions of Hell.

If you are traveling through Act 2 and are actively trying to level, it is worth it to kill these Fire Towers. They provide ~10x more experience points, in NM and Hell, than the common Sabre Cat provides. They do not provide this experience disparity in Normal though.
  • Sabre Cat: 130pts(N) / 3,527pts (NM) / 31,171pts (H)
  • Fire Tower: 283pts (N)/ 47,681pts (NM) / 380,649pts (H)
