Take care of these quickly or run away. Slingers are one of the most annoying monsters in the game, especially Night Slingers who throw Poison potions.

Slingers and

Spear Cats have a chance to deal Cold damage in Nightmare and Hell.
Hell Slingers have a chance to deal Fire damage in Nightmare and Hell.

There are 3 variations of Guest Slingers:
The first spawns in the

Bloody Foothills and throws javelins which deal Lightning damage.
The second spawns in the

Frigid Highlands and throws javelins which deal Cold damage.
The third spawns in the

Arreat Plateau and throws javelins which deal Fire damage.

While most Saber Cats attack with melee weapons, others have become fond of harassing their enemies with javelins or by throwing potions.

They rarely retreat and generally attack in large, well-organized groups, as is evident in their use of ranged weapons.

They are quick to the chase and enjoy the hunt, so encountering a pack of these predators is dangerous, at best.
