I play on PC (Linux) and Ps5.
No Linux option
I just cant comprehend why would anyone get a console when there are better options available. PC is always the better choice and consoles are nothing but waste of money. You pay a lot of money for bad hardware, its like a tax for fools who do not understand how good PCs can be with the same amount of money.

I play on Mac
They made a D2R Mac OS version ?
In the past, all Blizzard games had a Mac OS version.
My timezone is CET/UTC+1.
No, the game is officially only on the platforms in the poll. To play on Linux or Mac you need a Windows compatiliby layer like Wine and play the Windows version.
I'm in CET (Central European Time), so that's UTC+1 normally and UTC+2 during DST.
My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.
My profile says Softcore, but I play both Softcore and Hardcore.
My Holy Grail Tracker is for Offline Hardcore.

I agree to a certain extent. When the PS5 came out it was hugely competitive if you wanted affordable 4k gaming and didn't mind upscaling. Plus my son mostly plays popular mainstream games like Fortnite and Minecraft and prefers the simplicity of a console. Myself on the other hand prefers PC gaming and I have my main desktop and a htpc for couch gaming in my living room. Before I had my living room PC I wanted to play d2r on my couch sometimes and didn't mind paying again to do it. I actually very much enjoy d2r on PS5 with a controller I think they did a great job with the implementation. That said my preferred platform is PC (Linux) and I conduct all my trading and more difficult content using my PC. For leveling a new character and running through the game or just mfing? Console is fine and if I'm feeling lazy I will kick back and play on my PS5.Semirotta wrote: 1 month agoI just cant comprehend why would anyone get a console when there are better options available. The other thing that bugs me out these days is this "upscaling". Why the f-ck would I want to drop resolution only to have it artificially improved and upscaled back to higher? just to run a game better? wtf thats a problem in either game developers not being skilled enough to optimise (as it is todays gaming world, nobody knows how to make good games anymore because it has become a cash grab business) or how to make graphics cards etc. anymore.roxsonixx wrote: 1 month agoI agree to a certain extent. Everything has gone down hard when it comes to quality and performance in all sides; games AND the hardware.
Personally will never be using upscaling, if my hardware cant run the games these days in its native resolution etc. without lags; thats all on the games developers end most likely. RTX 4080 shouldnt bottleneck around anything at this moment.
Console is often cheaper. Depending on which one. Also consoles can be alot easier to deal with sometimes. Pretty straightforward to just turn it on and ready to play. Sometimes there's alot more fucking around with a PC.Semirotta wrote: 1 month agoI just cant comprehend why would anyone get a console when there are better options available. Having said that, pretty much the only reason I play on Switch is because I don't even have a PC right now. 20yrs ago I played Diablo 2 classic and LoD on PC and I wish I still had a PC that could run it. I bought the Switch ages ago because I wanted to play Super Smash Ultimate and the kids wanted to play that and Mario Party, and right now buying a PC just isnt a priority with the current budget.

Well, there's a mixture. Some developers are lazy and have poorly optimized games, but there's also the problem with CPUs and GPUs nearing the limit of how powerful they can be based on the current architectures. The limit of how many transistors that can fit on a reasonably sized die has been the talk for some time now. This is part of the reason why AI is becoming important in gaming for upscaling. I personally don't mind upscaling in most games, I don't really see a difference unless I really focus on trying to find one. That said, some games have a better implementation than others. This is also why other architectures like ARM and RISC are becoming popular, because there is a lot more potential than traditional x86, which is nearing the end of it's life. You will eventually see better performance at much lower heat/power usage but not for awhile. I believe the future is going to be highly efficient APUs like the ones AMD has been putting out which are incredibly competitive for the cost with some being capable of smooth 1440p 50-60 fps gameplay possible for many titles. In fact, if I were building a new PC targeting 1080p gaming I would not even consider a modern GPU, I would get a Ryzen APU and save money on the cost of the hardware while also saving on power usage. They are catching up rather quickly and eventually there won't be a need for massive GPUs that almost need their own power supply and mortgage payment to run.Semirotta wrote: 1 month agoThe other thing that bugs me out these days is this "upscaling".
