I was in the same boat like you and I ended up with two Infinity.
First one was made for a merc helping a

Hydra sorc. It was made in a

Mancatcher (I didn't wait to find an ethereal one. Being non

Eth can be also used by other chars).
Good elite base hepls the merc staying alive, ethereal one is even better.

Yari could be a decent choice that splits the difference between being good for self-wield and okay for merc. 91 strength requirement.

I also wear expensive

Caster Boots, but practically for single player you may want to wear

Sandstorm Trek or

War Traveler. Also an upgraded vipermagi is 84 strength requirement. An upgraded vipermagi does reduce chance to hit by about 16% I recall on my setup.

Arachnid Mesh is 50 strength. Is it worth 34 strength (68 mana pre CTA/soj, probably around a 4-5% increase total mana "health") to reduce physical hits by 16%? I don't think it's obvious one way or another, and the strength gives you more flexibility offline. Found a nice pair of rare

War Boots? Great, you can wear them.

Personally I find

Cyclone Armor a waste of time unless maybe if you are hardcore. Absorbs 280 damage per cast, but with

Prayer and ES you are taking small amounts of 5 hp passthrough damage constantly that your heal is offsetting. With

Cyclone Armor that constant damage just chips away the armor instead. I don't think it's worth sacrificing potential merc damage for non

Eth and increasing strength req by 10 just to have

Cyclone Armor and waste your time with another prebuff (assuming you are going the route of a weapon your merc might want to wield as well).

Assuming that is, you can find a 4 socket ethereal

Yari in single player Probably not.

I would stay away from anything with increased Dexterity requirements. Strength at least helps you wear other gear you might want - upgraded vipermagi, sandstorm,

War Traveler, perhaps even an ethereal

Monarch in offhand CTA (normally not worth the strength for the extra 3% life/mana). Dexterity doesn't help you with anything else you might want as a sorceress.

Spetum are options for self-use. For just 16points in strength above upped vipermagi requirements you are getting very nice weapon for your merc on otger elemental characters and for Amazon as well. It is OP's first Infinity on account.
You are talking about some minmaxing which doesn't make sense for me at my Wealth level. I prefer weapon I can use on different characters.

Yari is not. Why do you consider a

Yari? You already have good merc Infis. Now go for a self-use Infi in a normal base if you want to give it to an ES

Nova Sorc. That's a no-brainer. And making Infinity in a normal base is not "min-maxing", it's just saving attribute points that a

Nova Sorc needs for survival. The build is very strong as soon as it has reached a certain threshold. Making inefficient decisions like prioritising Str and Defense over mana does not work well for this build.

You can do what you want to, you are a free man. I would still advise the OP not to do as you do. An Infi either serves a Merc's purposes or it's for self-use. Points into str do not help an ES

Nova Sorc. Neither does an upped Vipermagi help her. Defense is completely irrelevant, sorry.

I don't have even one Infinity on offline account which I also like playing. With recent help of Warlock I just managed Enigma and Chains of Honor. Now I am 1

Ber short for Infinity , same as OP. Got it right after completing chains. LOL.
My offline

Nova Sorc is now running

Crescent Moon + Spirit and does well. Comparing to it any Infinity will do well and will save points in Str. Wider choice of

Boots too.
I tried to self-use Infinity in

Stygian Pike (since I have it) online, with more points wasted (dex+str), and it workedwell for me too.

Infinity in

Yari will be like a duck for me, which can swim, fly and walk but does it not as perfect as other animals. with dedicated skills. I accept such a

Sacrifice since I don't believe in myself making more than one Infinity offline at all.
