Magic arrow build

I want to make a

Magic Arrow build - mostly for fun (as i am almost certain it wont be a comparable to the other bowazon variants), but would be nice if anyone has some Insight about bowazon &

Magic Arrow, and gear specifically. that

Witchwild String i got in my stash keeps whispering me to up it lol.

Magic Arrow works. No question there. Though realistically, for all intents and purposes, you kind of end up just being a worse version of a Bone necro who limits himself to only

Bone Spear.

One annoyance is that the gear actually contradicts itself.
On the one hand, you want to focus on +skill to get your

Magic Arrow up so more of the phys dmg is converted over to magic.
On the other hand, you want to maximize your base phys dmg output so you have more dmg that can be converted to begin with. And that is generally not achieved via +skill on a bowzon.

So ultimately, you can either go the hard standard phys bowzon gear route and deal with a higher phys share. Or you can focus on +skill and magic and deal with having a lower total but more magic. Or you go somewhere down the middle. Though some of the RotW additions do make it more interesting than it used to be, thanks to a bit of magic dmg support now being an option.

If you have it , Take witch wild string and shoot one arrow after another with normal attack. That will be it. Then compare to damage output with same bow' multishot or

Strafe and feel the difference.
All other gear will be just adding to both skills making

Magic Arrow worse.
One good point: you can make very-very powerful Valkyre.
And with given witchwild there are other characters who will do better with it than Amazon.
If you just want to shoot at stuff with normal attack: take

Demon Machine add synergies and you are good to go. Here you as an Amazon also overshadowed by Fire Palladin or

Enchant sorc. By Warlock too.
Not sure about

Blade Fury assasin: never tried it with

Witchwild String. But I believe she will also be better than Amazon.


Then let's take Buriza as a weapon . With 20 skill points invested you will shoot one bolt at a time without mana cost, physical damage converted to magic.
With same 20 points in Multishot you will send 21

Bolts toward your enemies. Can add other skills for synergy and damage increase.

So IMO

Magic Arrow is a skill you put one point as a bowazon and never use it.

In theory there is a reason to max

Magic Arrow: once it converts 100% damage to magic, arrows can no longer be blocked (but still need to pass the AR check). However, doing to requires skill level 49 (one less than

Fire Arrow and

Cold Arrow), and there is no practical way to achieve it without crippling the Amazon with such an overspecialization.
