Description

So I used the
Larzuk
tool to calculate how many sockets a
Voulge
would have in nightmare and i only got 3 instead of the 4 that the
Larzuk
tool suggested. Take care with it. Although the tool is (for the most part) very good indeed. it does tend to make the odd mistake.

Can be used to make Runewords:

Are you sure the
Voulge
was dropped in your nightmare game? Max sockets on a
Voulge
should be 4 starting with ilvl 26 and all area levels in nightmare are 36+. So it shouldn't be possible to get a
Voulge
in nightmare and then getting only 3 sockets from
Larzuk
.

Are you 100% sure you found the
Voulge
in Nightmare? For a
Voulge
to have 4 sockets it needs to have an item level (ilvl) >=26.
A
Fallen
in nightmare
Blood Moor
has a monster level (mlvl) of 36. Items dropped from monsters typically have the ilvl = mlvl. So any
Voulge
dropped in nightmare should have an ilvl greater than 36, meaning it should roll with 4 sockets.

Edit: Atari beat me to it

2nd Edit: The only thing I can think of is you cubed the
Voulge
from a low-quality
Voulge
? If so, that will result in the item having an ilvl = 1. So only 3 sockets even if you found it in nightmare.

I'm willing to accept Tokens, Keys,
Perfect Gems
, and certain minor runes (this changes regularly so please ask but usually
Eth
,
Nef
,
Sol
,
Ral
,
Hel
,
Lem
,
Pul
,
Um
) in lieu of my asking price when my "looking for" price is a rune.

Might there have been a misunderstanding in terms of what the difficulty selection actually means? The difficulty selection relates to where the item dropped (as Knappogue and Atari mentioned), but maybe the OP thought it relates to in which difficulty you used the quest reward?

Like has been mentioned, it’s impossible for a
Voulge
that dropped in nightmare to roll 3 sockets from
Larzuk
- unless it dropped as Low Quality (or Cracked/Damaged/Crude) and was “repaired” to normal quality with the cube recipe (low quality weapon +
Eld
+ chipped gem) - that would reset the item’s ilvl to 1 which would cause max sockets to be 3 in this case.

I'm in CET (Central European Time), so that's UTC+1 normally and UTC+2 during DST.

Depends on the iLvl os the
Voulge
.

Probale or you dropped in an aLvl 25 or lower, or cubed a low quality
Voulge
to turn to normal. The iLvl after the recipe is 1.

Max sockets iLvl 1-25: 3
Max sockets iLvl 26-40: 4
Max sockets iLvl 41+: 4
