Cube Recipe: Elemental Rings

I have seen those recipes which are for rolling Elemental Rings. My Idea is why do they exist? Makes no sense to me. Later I heard of a unique Ring giving Elemental Resistances Like 100 all Res, +15Max Res etc.
Maybe there is something hidden. Like a cube recipe adding a

You can change the value in the txt file though to make it dropable in SP. I have not checked the other stats so I don't know which, if any, monsters would be able to drop it, and at what odds.

The reason why this item has never been enabled is that it would break the whole game.

The ring recipes are also not the worst cube recipes.
Those can spawn with a suffix. Imagine you are low on light res and you cube one and it gives you a ring with 30 light res and a nice suffix. Pretty neat, especially if you are playing SSF HC.

A lot of items (cube recipes, sets, uniques, runewords) have been introduced either in Classic or in early (pre-1.10) LoD. Before the 1.10 power creep they used to be viable, and still are in Classic.

Constricting Ring is present in the game files, but it's disabled in the unmodded game.

D2 has been thoroughly analyzed by modders, cheaters, theorycrafters &c. Unless Blizz released a secret server-side patch (I see no reason why would it), there's no hope of finding anything hidden. Sorry.

The cubed resistance rings are still useful for leveling characters, because it's hard to optimize your build at that stage. Fire & lightning are especially helpful, because both of those elements can have high burst damage.

If you have Hero Editor, it is possible to give yourself the Constricting Ring in SP, but it is absolutely broken.
