I'm making a horker for council rune farming, and I'm currently using a Lightsabre and etherial Demon Limb, and I'm wondering what budget options are out there that would be good? I'm using Tal Rasha's Helm, Armor , and Belt for the sweet resists/ dual leach and of course, MF. (and to cause sorcs to have a fit seeing my purple barb)
I'm looking to be able to run in there and just mow them all down quickly without having to split them up/ kite them, or worry about dying to hydras.
Key word here is BUDGET... I'm not putting dual Grief on him... I was thinking dual dooms or something.

Can be used to make Runewords:

If you're using Berserk as the kill skill, i.e., the second weapon doesn't contribute to your attacks, I'd advise against Demon Limb. The AR bonus Enchant provides on top of Berserk is infinitesimal and doesn't justify even the time it takes to cast it. If you want budget, go with a 6- Lem PB. Dual Wizzies on swap for horking of course.
Edit: Oh, right. The main weapon. I'd suggest upgrading to Azurewrath or Heaven's Light/ The Redeemer. All three are really cheap at this point.

OP
Sorry, forgot to mention that I'm using Frenzy.. don't have Berserk. My merc has The Reaper's Toll for the PIs.
Also, I don't really care about gold, so Lem runes don't seem to be anything else. For horking I have dual Heart Carver.

I'd still recommend dual wizzies over Heart Carvers, because they add so much cast speed that it beats out the couple of extra percent on the hork chance in my experience. But that's totally your call.Rasalom wrote: 2 years ago Sorry, forgot to mention that I'm using Frenzy.. don't have Berserk. My merc has The Reaper's Toll for the PIs.

if your on PC or psn. you can have my old 2 Oaths for cheaper then "crafting cost".
Don't go Azurewrath cause it adds cold dmg and you'll have less bodies to hork.
You should have 2 weapon's of the same type, like 2 swords should you choose it.
Double Doombringer will suck cause it'll overwrite Decrepify with Weaken.
Maybe go double Flamebellow with fire absorb if you don't want to worry about hydras, that's a very budget sword although it's not very good.

What did you put them in? I don't have the Mal runes.. otherwise I would craft them. Guessing a zerker ax.
I prefer two Phaseblades, in the main with Grief, in the other hand with Lawbringer.
Ok, sometimes it happens, that my Frenzy Barb make the last hit with the Lawbringer-Phaseblade and let the enemy rest in Peace, but I really like the Sanctuary Aura from the runeword.
2 Grief would be fine, too - if you get a second Lo.

I'm guessing you didn't see the two places where I said "BUDGET"... or where I said I'm not putting Grief on him....Seltsem wrote: 2 years ago I prefer two Phaseblades, in the main with Grief, in the other hand with Lawbringer.

I don't... not sure where you see that.LordObjectz wrote: 2 years agoi put them in Eth cryptic swords since i went with the sword mastery as well. i see now that you play single player. thats too bad, otherwise i'd help.
under your name with the logos. its one for singleplayer and expansion, PC and americas. oh and necro as well.Rasalom wrote: 2 years agoI don't... not sure where you see that.LordObjectz wrote: 2 years agoi put them in Eth cryptic swords since i went with the sword mastery as well. i see now that you play single player. thats too bad, otherwise i'd help.

Oh.. lol.. no.. it's not single player, it's Non Ladder. That's different. There's online ladder and non ladder. I don't play ladder, but I only play online. Plus, while I'm at it, what skills are you maxing? It's like maxing Find Item seems to be a waste of time as the difference between 1 point (and double Heart Carver) and 20 points (with the same weapons) is 42% vs 55%.LordObjectz wrote: 2 years agounder your name with the logos. its one for singleplayer and expansion, PC and americas. oh and necro as well.Rasalom wrote: 2 years agoI don't... not sure where you see that.LordObjectz wrote: 2 years ago

strange, says single player to me. but nvm then
i actually just did Find Item until i had like 50%.. im too lazy to weapon swap. probably should tho..
i actually do hoark ww.. so a bit different then yours.

Ah.. I was gonna go with WW, but I hear it's bugged/ misses alot now due to some changes, plus Frenzy takes less points, so I can max my Shout and Battle Orders and be useful for a group in Chaos runs for leveling.LordObjectz wrote: 2 years ago strange, says single player to me. but nvm then

i mean its a little clunky but way better then Berserk that i did before. and there is a mechanic im using with Grief. so its even better then Berserk. havent tried Frenzy tbh.Rasalom wrote: 2 years agoAh.. Regarding gear I would strongly suggest you use Laying of Hands because it gives lots of fire resistance, attack speed and most of all 300% damage vs demons (council is all demons). With these alone you do much more damage.
Aside from that Gore Rider and Guillaume's Face can push your damage further without the need to change your weapon. Even though Immortal King's Will the better option for a budget travi horker.
I agree with others that an Eth Oath Balrog Blade would be a very good investment. You could combine it with a Lawbringer Phase Blade - it has cold damage which is not ideal but it's cheap and boosts your damage with decrep alot.
I would also suggest you point one point in Berserk. Once you are winded up with Frenzy you can use Berserk to hit with you main hand (Oath) for a ton of damage and kill the physical immunes yourself.
My Frenzy travi horker has even 5 points in Berserk because it synergizes with Frenzy and I like the attack rating and damage boost when using Berserk every once in a while.

I know you said you don't want dual griefs, but just one Grief is really all you need. Makes such a huge difference. No other weapon compares when it comes to kill speed, not even Last Wish.
Offhand doesn't really matter, but I'd recommend something fast with high magic find so your Grief will hit again ASAP. Definitely not "budget", but 6 Isted PB is great option if you can afford. Ali Baba's is the budget option here, but VERY slow attack speed.
Also, Find Item is definitely worth the extra points IMO. 56% chance here (33 points when swapped to dual +3 warcry swords). Feels so much better knowing I'm getting the highest potential amount of rune drops, rather than missing one due to lower Find Item. I could tell a noticeable difference from 55% to 56% (took me long enough to get there, so was able to do LOTS of testing).
And last but not least, Reapers Toll on merc will freeze a decent amount of bodies. Highly recommend switching to something without cold damage, like Arioc's Needle. I've got a perfect Eth one with 15% IAS / 40% ED jewel and he can single handedly take down Trav by himself (given no Conviction aura from enemies). You could probably get a high rolled non- Eth one for very cheap ( Mal or less). Pair that with Steel Shade (for Fire Absorb) and a good chest (Budget: Eth Duriels / Rich: Chains of Honor) and he can bathe in Trav's fire like it's nothing!
