crafted items that give you +1-3 random skill from other char

Description

I was wondering what this would bring to the game: a cube recipe that uses a hero badge and gives an item +1-3 random skill from a random character.

Think about how many different builds are possible. I think auras and summons would be the most sought for.

What interesting builds do you have in mind? Please leave a comment here.

Can be used to make Runewords:

I think there would be opportunities for some fun builds, but really people would just go for the insanely OP stuff;

Teleport
,
Battle Command
/order, paladin auras,
Amplify Damage
, etc...

True. Since those OP stuff are already provided in existing items, there are opportunities to add other skills to them, resulting in really fun build, like who doesn't want assasin's speed and
Fade
, a sorcerer with a grizzly, or a
Fend
bar, etc.

Just look at how many people still complain about Enigma's
Teleport
being too OP.

Now imagine the possibilities of what you're suggesting here that far exceed that. Even more so since "an item" would imply that you could add more than just one for the same character (i.e. 1 per item).

-
Teleport
without having to use Enigma
- (A better)
Conviction
without Infinity
- Lower Res on top of the above
- Amp on any phys character
- A tri-aura/tri-mastery sorc with her own
Conviction

- A trapsin with lightning and
Fire Mastery

- A javazon with
Lightning Mastery

-
Find Item
on every MF char

Honestly, I actually really like the idea. It certainly would be quite fun and would actually result in a ton of different builds being used because of it. But in terms of balancing, it'd basically be the d2 version of getting too lucky in a DotA ability draft and would basically break the game.

On the other hand, if you don't add them to "an item" but could create a "skill gem", that'd have an interesting little side effect because it'd promote use of non-runewords (as you'd need a socket for each skill you want to add).

Side note:
Just for the fun of it..I'd love to see how a tri-aura, tri-mastery,
Conviction
runner with
Vigor
,
Increased Speed
and
Burst of Speed
would perform. Who needs
Teleport
anyways.. :D

(assuming of course auras gained would work as 'when equipped'..if not, those would be significantly less op)

Your concern is legitimate. We could limit this recipe to amulet only. Since you can only equip one amulet, you can only have one skill added.

Javazon +
Lightning Mastery

Sorc +
Lightning Fury

Pally +
Strafe

Pally +
Lightning Mastery

Just as a few obvious examples. One skill of choice would be more than enough to not only replace (or entrench in the case of a Java) the current meta but to take things so far beyond imbalanced that you really have no hope of ever competing with it with anything else ever, much more so than with current meta builds. And even more so in PvP.

Still think it could be fun, simply because you get to drastically increase the variety of viable p8 end-game builds (note: viable, not meta), but in terms of balancing it'd completely break the game even with only 1 skill.
