I don't know why Cooley would be surprised by these rumors, the mere existence of the Warlock should have clued him in that there would be sweeping rebalances across all classes. What are we to expect? that the only class with near perfectly usable skills would be Warlock? That makes absolutely no sense.
He expresses concerns for a shapeshifter Druid teleporting during PVP, but then double backs to defend the most trivializing addition in Diablo 2 history, the Enigma Runeword. A mere +2 to all skills nerf, unthinkable.. NOW what will I BUILD? and HOW will I rolf Teleport stomp? I have a couple ideas myself, but I'd think these guys with thousands of hours in game would have some too. Runewords already fked more than half the uniques and rares in the game, acting as a mere bandaid to the main issue, but yeah lets defend the most boring Runeword in the whole game. I could go on about Runewords, but this encapsulates my disappointment with Cooley.
Further in he acts like Blessed Hammer is an awkward skill to use and should remain as it is.. well Blessed Hammer is an awkward skill to use but it's also broke AF; once the hammers fly you're dam near invincible. So what exactly is he talking about? If you read what the rumored changes to Blessed Hammer's would be, it would be a nerf. But he argues that the skill should remain awkward. Why don't you just say you want the skill to remain broken?
Just an awful take from someone who should know better.
Can be used to make Runewords:

What changes?
OP
Amended. There are no changes, just rumors.
I am simply surprised by Cooley's logic, and expectations.

What are the rumours?

Okay some nice rumors out there. My take on these....
Druid Shapeshift Teleport - Nice addition so long as they still don't use Elemental skill in wolf/bear form. Also maybe the 1hp thing revert form be considered also
Druid Elemental - About time Wind Druid get some buffs but Tornado getting Light dmg? Hopefully they wont increase the damage too much in all the synergy-related skills cuz already having three types of damage in a single build is nuts.
Druid Summon - Now they won't be just meat shields though 80% Crushing Blow for the bear seems too high
Paladin Hammerdin - No need to have it go straight but can be debatable. At least make everyone get hit at the closest range, not just at certain angles.
Paladin Vengeance - Along with Wind Druid, this skill really needed some changes and buffs
Enigma - Not agree on removing +2 skills. Especially offline, it gives you something really good to work towards as a goal.
Act 4 additional content and Act 6 expansion - More content would be appreciated
So yeah what can you guys say about these rumors
? I hope they also do some rework also on the Necromancer curses and Bone skills

Enigma is cool. Until you have it, it's like this seemingly unachievable grand objective that moves you into a new echelon.
Definitely don't get rid of Teleport, and all nerfing other aspects like +2 skills does is make other classes comparatively worse vs. the sorc, which is one of the strongest classes.
As far as build diversity goes, maybe create a super hard to get charm that gives Teleport as well, which then unlocks alternatives to Enigma. Ideally it should be the combo of a latent charm and a cube recipe that requires significant high runes to get the "renewed" version of the charm, to prevent the Teleport enabled charm from becoming so common and cheap over time that it is no longer an achievement to unlock Teleport (as happens with torches).

notta - honestly can say never heard of the person before, but it all seems like rumors and clickbait trolling. Better things to do...

They are rumors, but worth noting its a leak by the same guy who leaked Warlock and is considered credible in Russian/Korean communities.

Agree on a lot of your points.Derenzo wrote: 5 hours agoOkay some nice rumors out there. My take on these....

Weather the Enigma nerf makes sense or not would depend on how substantial balance changes will be in terms of class skills and itemization rebalances. As it stands Enigma represents a vacuum in the games potential for build/chase variety/creativity.
I found it quite pleasant on mute. I just fast forwarded to the list of changes and hit pause. I guess the dude deserves a click for that.
Honestly, I care very little for these long videos about a game I'd rather be playing than spectating. That said, when I finally finish my Ultimate Warlock Guide Video, I expect ALL OF THE CLICKS! Now, I just need to learn how to make videos and where the hell you are supposed to put them. I know I've got a tape recorder around here somewhere...

"Summary of Leaks
Proposed Changes & Details
Source & Context • BlizzCon 2026 D2R Leak Summary: Leaked by the same leaker who previously leaked Warlock screenshots. Highly credible in Korean/Russian communities, though unconfirmed officially.
Druid Shape-shifting • Direct Teleport Usage: Werewolf and Werebear forms can use Teleport directly without needing to shapeshift back to human form. • Resolves issues with targeting and slow map traversal while transformed.
Druid Elemental • Synergy Rework: Twister (under Hurricane): Casts continuously in a 200-degree arc (previously random scatter). • Tornado (under Hurricane): Adds Lightning damage across the entire Hurricane area based on Hurricane radius.
Druid Summoning • Summon Grizzly Rework: Summon Bear gains up to an 80% Crushing Blow chance scaling with Summoning skill level. • Shifts focus from minion spamming to single summons dealing high threat to bosses/high-HP targets.
Paladin Blessed Hammer • Flight Path Rework: Hammers move in a straight line first before starting their spiral trajectory (Internal Code Name: Projectile-to-Spiral). • Greatly improves efficiency in narrow corridors/melee range; safe long-range playstyle may become less viable.
Paladin Vengeance skill Rework: Direction undecided; tests show signs of leaving additional status effects on enemies.
Enigma Nerf Item Balance: Possible nerf removing +2 to All Skills to reduce reliance across all builds.
New Content: Adding a new Act 4 questline (addresses the original short storyline) and a new Act 6 expansion."
OP
Yeah I mean its probably clickbait. And I am not saying to outright get rid of Enigma either. But a change to make room for more variety of builds/loadout and chase items is never a bad thing.varangium wrote: 4 hours agoEnigma is cool. Personally I hope most of this rumor or all of it is true. As I want to see more changes and life breathe to this game. It's not like D2R: LOD is going anywhere anyways.
If they nerf Enigma, how would the ones already in existence be affected?eguerrero wrote: 2 hours agoAll good, its all here;

If those too will be affected, it's gonna be all the rage among players by Blizzcon
Same way they changed Hustle runeword.
OP
There is a lot that they can do to address Enigma. But as it stands Enigma being nerfed doesn't ruin Diablo 2, because before Runewords Diablo 2 was already an amazing game.
I mean honestly, changing the way Blessed Hammer works is just anti Diablo II in my opinion. I don't care if you love it or hate it, the classic hammerdin is a staple of the game. I personally hope some of these leaks are not real. I know this is a somewhat minor thing but it feels more than that.
