Description

Hello Community.

Does anyone have any Insight on how the game list works?

I swear sometimes you can refresh the list, and games that you know to exist (because you were there moments ago) disappear, and then later reappear.

Anyone have any knowledge on how that algorithm works. Seems to me like there's a pool of open games and the lobby will display say 20-30 for you chosen at random. If there are more than x, you get to see an arbitrary selection, which when refreshed, will show a new 20-30, which may or may not include some/all from the previous list.

Just curious.

When you refresh the game list, it will always hide full games. A game that becomes full while it's on the list (it showed up in a refresh and then became full afterwards) will remain on the list, but disappear when you refresh. Full doesn't necessarily mean 8/8, the game creator can set a lower max number of players. But beyond that, I'm not sure how it chooses what to display or not.

My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.
My profile says Softcore, but I play both Softcore and Hardcore.
My Holy Grail Tracker is for Offline Hardcore.

I see this alot on xbox. I'll see a trade (normal difficulty) game and its sitting on 1/8. I'll go grab the necessary mule and I can't find the game anymore. I know 7 people didn't join in 10 seconds and I don't have any difficulty filters set. Then randomly 3 minutes later the game will reappear. It won't be a new one either because the game duration is on par with the elapsed time. Long story short, I have no clue why and how it does that.

If you are offering my asking for price, please feel free to add me on bnet or xbox, you do not need to wait for my confirmation.

The selection of the 40 games that get shown is indeed weird. If you are interested in joining a game, try to remember the name, then you can search for it.

Please also keep in mind that some games have level restrictions. So a level 1 mule often can't find these games.
