Description
I just traded 4 statue sets for an Enigma that was swapped out last second, I should have hovered over it again. I don't wish to beg but if anyone has an extra I'd really appreciate it, but it's only a game so no sweat if not.

Can be used to make Runewords:

If you're on now, I can give you an Enigma. Add me on bnet to choose your base.
OP
human_being lives up to their name tenfold. You are truly kind.
Sucks to be scammed. It's good there's people around who can have your back. : )
I know you already said this, but to others *always* double check the item you’re buying is the item you were shown, even if it’s not a complete swap like Enigma Archon Plate -> Archon Plate it could be lowered stats instead. I’ve seen people swap a perfect Griffon’s eye Diadem for a trash one
20 years ago I traded a perfect Hoto for a Mephisto's Soulstone. This scheme will never work on me again.
In the end, I feel sorry for that guy. Imagine how pitiful their lives must be if they have to scam someone on such a game for a digital item that is worth just a few cents. It's really sad.

Playing HC SSF right now.

I went ahead and removed the name from the OP. Please note that we do not condone public calling-out, shaming or witch hunts here as it is ultimately solely your word against theirs (or just your word as they're not here to defend themselves) with no proof in either direction. Additionally, if you're burning the char name, rather than b.net tag, you're effectively starting a witch hunt against multiple people as those names aren't unique or limited to one person.
That said, ALWAYS double-check the item in the trade window before hitting accept and NEVER agree to drop-trades with someone you don't already know and fully trust.

So let me get this straight, order of operation wise...you placed the statue sets in the trade window, they put the Enigma in the trade window, you checked stats on the Enigma and before you were able to click the green check button they swapped it out? Or did they wait until they saw your check button turn green then swapped it out? Is that how this scam works?Triumphant wrote: 12 hours agoI just traded 4 statue sets for an Enigma that was swapped out last second, I should have hovered over it again. Seems odd (or buggy) that the window wouldn't cancel out if any items were altered after initial placement in the trade window but I haven't tested this out or have even considered this to be a possibility. Some people really do suck at life. If they will cheat in a stupid computer game, imagine what they're capable of IRL. Zero code or moral/ethical compass.
Sorry for your loss, man, but it looks like you've already been taken care of. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
When you move any item in the trade window the check box turns red for the other player and you have to wait 10 seconds or so (at least it's supposed to)Rhaegar86 wrote: 1 hour agoSo let me get this straight, order of operation wise...you placed the statue sets in the trade window, they put the Enigma in the trade window, you checked stats on the Enigma and before you were able to click the green check button they swapped it out? I think what happened with op is that, scammer first placed a real Enigma in the window, scammer said "oops i need space", pretended to go to stash, came back and placed a plain white item of the same base in the new window hoping op wouldn't mouse over it
When checking and double-checking an item don't just check the name. Also check the stats. I tried buying a perfect Fortitude the other day. Guy tried to pull the same crap. When he replaced the item it WAS a Fortitude, but a poorly rolled one. Not the item I was trying to buy.
I laughed at him and told him to eat a dick. I absolutely love it when scammers get mad that their scam didn't work. Then they try to blame you for scamming them. Talk about projecting.

Yea i had someone try that with a grand charm. Swapped out a 40 lifer with a 20 lifer of the same type hoping I wouldn't notice.
I gave them a ton of crap before they exited. Why people want to screw with other people in a game is somewhat beyond me. We're supposed to be having fun.

Yep that’s the blunder. This site has me so trusting of people because on here people can be trusted 99% of the time in my experience. This was just a lobby I made and they joined. It wasn’t even in my mind that this could happen to me. I was actually dumbfounded. I couldn’t even believe how casual the scam was. Just another Monday for that turd.kerph wrote: 1 hour agoWhen you move any item in the trade window the check box turns red for the other player and you have to wait 10 seconds or so (at least it's supposed to)Rhaegar86 wrote: 1 hour agoSo let me get this straight, order of operation wise...you placed the statue sets in the trade window, they put the Enigma in the trade window, you checked stats on the Enigma and before you were able to click the green check button they swapped it out?
