I'd actually be really interested in seeing a poll of ages on here. I'm 25, I played D3 first then my work buddy put me on to this one. I've never looked back.
We should all get a life.
If we had spent the same amount of time on any science topic, we would all have a nobel prize by now!

As Marius told us on the cinematic, I play "offline, always (into the) offline".klmklm27 wrote: 3 days agoare the original servers still online ? or is your game was offline ?Florian_G wrote: 3 days agoThen I took a break from the game for 15 years until Easter of 2024 when I continued and then finished the 2009 game (yes, the 2007 installed Windows XP is still running to this day on that old computer).
Ehh... maybe not always but 99% offline.
Here is what you are looking for. You have to add from 4 months up to 4 years to the then-age of responders. The topic is 4 years old.Triumphant wrote: 3 days agoI'd actually be really interested in seeing a poll of ages on here. I'm 25, I played D3 first then my work buddy put me on to this one. THIS IS SO TRUE, No URN OR JAR IS OR SHALL EVER BE SAFE!!!, I CAN'T LEVE em UN-BROKEN I JUST CAN'T it goes against my program code xD, not In Diablo 2 & not in Zelda Occarina of Time or other Zeldas for that matter as well.Valnerios wrote: 1 week ago
I definitely have delusions about the game - I suspect everyone here is similar...
You have fun little rituals, you have a favorite kind of environmental object that you always go and click - either its an old log, the hung Skeleton, or its the jars from act 2 or whatever - you do this because 10 or 20 years ago youve got a good rune from one, or a good ring. Now you cant stop, and shill it to people online.
Totally normal behavior.
If it can be smashed and drop Loot / money, then its going to be smashed 10/10 Times, all times.
Don't train till you can get it right, train till you can't get it wrong!
I have sworn 25 years ago, if I ever pop a Zod from a rat's nest, I'll quit playing for good.
Me too! (A new one after rotw)Triumphant wrote: 3 days agoI'd actually be really interested in seeing a poll of ages on here. I'm 25, I played D3 first then my work buddy put me on to this one. I've never looked back.
I'm 20 and was introduced to d2 lod by my dad
Have people not looked around? humans are batshitcrazy 100%. We believe in imaginary deities because we cannot fathom and comprehend the things happening around us in this vast universe.
We created a system of dept in order to keep slavery legal in one form or another.
We Consume and destroy the one thing keeping us alive for the sake of profits which are held by criminally lunatic people over at some tax havens or other bs.
So short answer to your question, yes, we are extremely insane creatures.

And that's why we have to escape to fantasy worlds where we can repeatedly slay evil creatures over and over and over again.Semirotta wrote: 3 days agoHave people not looked around? humans are batshitcrazy 100%. I just hate this timeline and world we live in. If I could, would escape it right away
I'll release a secret... I'm in a psych hospital for years now :'(
I still think you're the best <3
Started in 2003 before LoD, not sure on the version, played at least 3 years, in my early 20s. Then restarted with Resurrected.
My wife hates Blizzard... or would hate it if she knew Starcraft and Diablo were made by the same editor ^^
As insane as you guys, or worse because I mod insanity ^^

I know that experience. Original D2 was why I almost failed out of college in '02. I majored in D2, drinking, and procrastination.Rhaegar86 wrote: 1 week agoOG D1 was released in 96 because it almost got me ejected from college in 97 loljustinman114 wrote: 1 week agoI think D2 came out late in '99, but either way, it's just a timeless game and we're lucky to be alive at the same time as it!

Trades are LOD by default, but I can also trade on ROTW.

I'm way younger than that lol, Diablo 2 to me means endless possibilities and fun. There's many layers to it. Just finishing the game in SSF is already a challenge on its own ! I'm leveling a Frenzy barb with a Frenzy act V merc right now, I'm playing without Teleport staff, without any shenanigans, just face-to-face confrontation with mobs and it's very hard in Hell.
Then, you can play hardcore.
Then, there is the endgame : insanely rare loot and runes, building a BiS char, coming back to hell where you struggled and kill every monster within seconds is still the best power-up feeling I've had in any video game.
Also the fact that the game is brutal : you are given no explanations, no nothing, you just spawn, kill monsters, are given three skill trees where 80% of the skills are non-viable lol. When I was very young, I used to play OG D2 when there was no Reset skills, and my father taught me to play up until level 30 without putting ANY skill points. This game still has this unforgiving aura to me, there are hundreds of hidden mechanics that I'm still learning today. It's like not only your in game character is gaining XP, you, the player, gain XP as well by playing the game and understanding its mechanics.
Then, there is the setting, dark fantasy with gore, corpses, nudity, 5 very distinct acts, it holds up nicely even today !
