On a more serious note: Be it games or everything else: Set and negotiate the limits and always keep up talking to each other to hold or get things back in balance before it escalates

This. About 90% of issues in relationships are about not setting proper expectations/boundaries. I promise you your girlfriend doesn't hate D2 (or you playing it).

My kid is too young still, but I also think this is exactly the right approach. Get your kids involved in your hobbies so you can get triple value out of enjoying them: 1. Do your hobby, 2. Teach your kid to have hobbies, 3. Give your partner some free time

I can't wait to DM for my son and his buddies.
