I started listing some items over there and really like the interface and have had some pretty good luck but holy crap at how some of these people operate. The pendulum swings in extremes. Some people cancel their offer in 8 minutes if there is no response and some people wait days before responding to an accepted offer. The site really should make it mandatory to display the time zone you are in. I think that would help in some cases at least
Can be used to make Runewords:

traderie is usually a very fast paced trading website, I got over 10k trades over there
I don't know if anyone will agree, but this site and its community seems a lot more down to earth than others. Trades here feel less profit-motivated and more "for the love of the game" and actually helping people out. I made a couple trades there but didn't care for it. Now this is all I'm active on.
Got the same impression. Manners and love for the game are here at Io; speed and profit there (often not even time to say good bye or thank u...)
I placed an offer for an item where I offered the ask price.
It took 10 hours or so before the seller accepted my offer.
Then, since I did not react to his message within 6 minutes, he cancelled the trade saying 'buyer was unresponsive'.
What a bunch of crap. I've had this numerous times.
It feels that site is filled with people who don't do this because they love this, but because their income is dependent of it. It's work.

I've had the exact same thing happen to me today. I like the site mechanics and ui, but I've had this happen alot, mainly because of time zones i believe. I have woken up in the morning and checked and had 4 to 5 different users cancel offers because i was asleep and not fast enough
OP
100%. I see a lot of people on here gifting items away for the love of the game as well. Great community here and I'm glad to be a part of itTriumphant wrote: 22 hours agoI don't know if anyone will agree, but this site and its community seems a lot more down to earth than others. I have to admit there are enough very nice people as well on Traderie.
I bought an ethereal Insight Giant Thresher today (only 1 Jah!), got it as expected. Then the seller dropped a 4os ethereal Colossus Voulge. "Gift" he said. I'm pretty sure I'll find a very good use for that

They do have some good features. I very much like the instant messaging system where, instead of adding someone on Battle.net (to have instant messaging!) you can just easily give a game/pass/server to join for a quick trade.
I am pretty active at Traderie aswell, as its a good source of runes or base items with Open socets or other items like jewels / gems.
its like you say, most ppl don't have the time to wait for a couple hours if said person are asleep or at work, I have had my fair share of listings canceled, but I have also met some incredibly reliable ppl that wait for a long time or that when you have waited for days / hours for them to accept the trade you would get some free runes or items as compensation for them taking alot of time, or even ppl that would give runes for wasting time if they did not have an item they listed or made a wrong offer on something that was not Etherial for example.
Its a bit of both, mostly I have had successful transactions, but also some bad ones.
I am trying to be the more patient sensible person, always say ty and in-game thanks with num pad 3, but some rush to fast for that even.
it sure has its ups & downs.
Edit, I also found out that if you would set your status as Offline on Traderie, all your listings would not appear, and ppl could not send offers for when you are asleep or working, started doing that, then relisted stuff when I am actually home and in-front of the computer cuz of so much canceled listings otherwise

Don't train till you can get it right, train till you can't get it wrong!
if you are on traderie do you also notice a slow down in the volume of trades there ? (less offers or ppl less responsive?)
Region: EU Time Zone: CET/DST (playing early morning / evening / week-ends)
Please post / PM here ( battle.net not working properly for me half of the time)

It’s declining over time, yes.klmklm27 wrote: 9 hours agoif you are on traderie do you also notice a slow down in the volume of trades there ? (less offers or ppl less responsive?)

Still have yet to use it.
Was going to, simply because the stat search is quite the convenience. But was blocked by the site itself because they can't tell the difference between (multiple..) perfectly normal email addresses and "invalid email!" during an attempted sign-up. So... f that.
Then again, really only ever missed it for one item that otherwise took forever to get. And more often than not, if you compare it to either here or in-game trades, their asking prices tend to be absolutely insane.

The game in general has gone back to it's pre-RotW population. Lobbies feel desolate again, and this decline in the player base has made trading, both in-game and online, more difficult and less lucrative than it was during the expansion release.klmklm27 wrote: 9 hours agoif you are on traderie do you also notice a slow down in the volume of trades there ? OP
After looking at several, several different past trade metrics for different items that are considered to be base trade currency over there, it would seem that the market might be being manipulated because you're right, some of these prices make absolutely zero senseSchnorki wrote: 7 hours agoStill have yet to use it.

When looking for items on Traderie you need to scroll past the insane prices. There also are some people who use scripts to automatically bump all their listings on short intervals* to make sure they always stay on top, and some of these people have 10-20 listings (or more) of the same item (or variants of it). Once you scroll past the junk listings, you get to the normal listings from regular people with reasonable prices. They do exist, normal decent people do exist on Traderie.
* if you're a paying member you get unlimited bumps (via "Akrew Pro" subscription) - but that said, using scripts or other forms of automation to bump your listings is against Traderie's rules, so you should consider reporting that when you see it. Traderie should be doing more to automatically identify this kind of abuse, but they don't.
You can identify the "Akrew Pro" users by the colorful frame around their listings. I often mentally skip these when scanning listings, cause more often than not those are the ones with insane asking prices. The colorful frame is meant to make their listings stand out and gain more attention - for me it's quite the opposite, I tend to just ignore them completely.
