For ANYONE out there playing hardcore, be careful of level 99 //No public naming please that is bnet name// , character name is //.

I believe these two are working together or are perhaps the same person.

Long story short ... joined my game and played with me for a few moments and then went to town and "afk" and not long after a level 99 ... joined and tried to kill me/hostile. I obviously left the game the moment that happened.

Afterwards i was able to whisper to ... but not ... which makes me think it was someone from ... friends list from another server or perhaps the same person/different account.

this happened just now within the Hour.

Anyways stay frosty out there and watch out for the trolls.

Stay Safe Hardcore Players.

We don’t allow public shaming especially without any proof, as it usually just boils down to your word vs theirs. We have no way of knowing whether what you're saying is actually true - and we can't verify it in any way (we're not Blizzard). Anyone can post a claim about someone that they did something. I’m not saying you’re lying or that what you claim happened didn’t happen, but right now we only have your word for it and the other person(s?) probably don't even know they’re even being accused in the first place.

This site isn’t affiliated with Blizzard in any way - if you want to report another user for something that happened in-game or in the BNet app, you need to do it to Blizzard, either in-game or via Blizzard’s website.

It really sucks that there are PKers out there, especially on HC, but this forum is not the place to report them. You are always free to post about something that happened to you - just without the account names. If someone wants to know who it was they can contact you directly and you can tell them in a private message, not in a public post. There are also lots of D2R Discord servers that are much more lax about naming and shaming. The difference is that discussions on Discord are not public compared to here - a thread at diablo2.io can be found via a simple Google search.

On the other hand, if you can prove that someone from this website did something, you can contact the moderator team here directly (not in a public post, and with as much proof as possible) - we can and will take action against users on this site, if there is proof that they violated the site's rules.

Imagine not allowing name shaming publicly on people who do garbage things. Imo these people should be named, shamed, hunted and gutted.
Blizzard does 100% nothing to these c-nts, they dont even ban botters which is bigger issue than trashy low IQ pkers.

Believe me, if this were the case (naming and shaming allowed) griefers would have much more energy and time and everything than most individuels and they would start griefing by teaming up and accusing random people of stuff they didnt do

Not just that but you also get well-meaning people accusing others of things that they never actually did based solely on genuine misunderstandings, assumptions based on lack of knowledge about the game (and existing bugs), language barriers and so on. We've had plenty of such cases in the past (luckily mainly as reports or direct contact with a mod). The last thing you want is to let all of that stand publicly. It will do a lot more harm than good.

Blizz not doing anything about the stuff they should be acting on, yeah, that's a serious shame and could easily be remedied if they ever chose to do so.
But we're not Blizz. We don't have game or b.net chat logs. Screenshots and even videos are largely exceptionally easy to fake in D2. So we simply can't ever truly prove anything one way or another unless it actually happened within the constraints of this site. Best we can do is look into it to the extent possible for us mods (limited as it may often be) and even more so to keep an eye out for repeat offenders (simplified: if one person reports you for scamming, it might be whatever but if you get reported to us by different people every other trade, odds are there is indeed something rather fishy going on).
I won't pretend like I'm happy about that, I'd merrily see actual scammers and such get drawn and quartered in the town square. But never at the cost of giving them a perfect tool to publicly take down every innocent person they just don't like with.

An excellent recent example : someone thought he had been scammed, while most likely he had some pgems poofing due to a long time.

No one badly acting, just a misunderstanding and a bit of bad luck.

D2R is a complex game and things are not always as simple as "this guy is a scammer".

Hence our policy of "no public shaming without proof", and proofs being almost impossible to make...

You see our point.
Hope you'll understand. However, if HC players see these topics and want to send you a PM to get those names, they are free to do so.
