Description
Ever sold something for a very low price, given it away for free, or Charsi’d it, only to realise the item’s true value much later?
I often hear people saying that most players won’t have recognised the value in a JMod or a 3/20/20 in their earlier days of D2, and may well have Charsi’d some of these drops..
Does anyone recall anything like that happening to them?
What was the item?? How much did it go for? What happened to it?
Aards.

One of my deepest fears...
I sold one of my reasonably good Annihilus to Akara once (I think it was something like 18/19/10). It was how I found out that those things cannot be bought back.
I must've sold a billion good items over the years, having no clue of their value, but the only one I can remember is a pair of rare trires Boots with pretty good stats and very high resistances. I accidentally sold them while gambling, so it was lost to the wormhole pockets of Anya.

OP
This needs fixing; should make it so that when you fire a merc, all the gear they are wearing gets dropped in town next to your stash.. oh the pain!! Was it an Ethereal forti?
OP
Needs an undo button right? To reverse the last 3 or 4 trades… Enigma hurts!Ram1st wrote: 1 day agoHe he… found a super Archon Plate with 4 sockets….was so happy and in my ecstasy instead of dropping it in the stash, I (dramatically) switch if for my Enigma and sold the Enigmaof course, no recover possible

Yeah that change would be more than welcome...AardvarksAdvance wrote: 23 hours agoThis needs fixing; should make it so that when you fire a merc, all the gear they are wearing gets dropped in town next to your stash.. oh the pain!! Was it an Ethereal forti?
Luckily Fortitude wasn't Eth
I found a mang song early on when I first started playing d2r. I left it on the Ground because I remember a YouTuber saying no sorc ever use this item. but the funny thing is, no would use a grandfather either, but I would've kept that for nostalgia. never had a mang song back 20 years ago so never cared for it.
OP
I managed to collect 3 or 4 mangsongs altogether, some were +4 and others lower. Remember selling them off for Perfect Gems in the few weeks before ROTW. Of course the price then skyrocketed post launch into the Jah territory…Atomicharmony24 wrote: 9 hours agoI found a mang song early on when I first started playing d2r. So, instead of being lost to the NPC, the gear is to be snatched by other players (if in a multiplayer game)? This is hardly an improvement.AardvarksAdvance wrote: 23 hours agoThis needs fixing; should make it so that when you fire a merc, all the gear they are wearing gets dropped in town next to your stash.. oh the pain!! The gear should be seamlessly transferred to the new merc, or, if incompatible, put in a withdraw-only tab in the stash.
OP
Yes, that is a real risk. I wasn’t thinking of open multi player games when i made that suggestion. I suppose they could code it so that it is impossible for other players to pick up - like when you try picking up a quest object that is not your quest?Trang Oul wrote: 2 hours agoSo, instead of being lost to the NPC, the gear is to be snatched by other players (if in a multiplayer game)? That's better, but there is still a risk of losing the items if the game crashes, or if the player simply forgets to take them (but in this case it's entirely his fault) - maybe the gear should be dropped near the merc NPC instead?. Basically, all items dropped to the ground can be lost, and they are safe only in the inventory or in the stash.AardvarksAdvance wrote: 2 hours agoYes, that is a real risk. I like the idea of items being impossible to pick up by other players, though. It could also be used, for example, for quest drops from bosses.
