Is Void worth it?

When the warlock was nerfed, I put mine aside for a while, thinking of respeccing it. Playing with other characters, I managed to make an Enigma, trade for an

Ars Dul'Mephistos, grind the ubers for a torch, etc. But now I have to think of a suitable weapon and I thought of Void, but not only is it a pain to procure a

Zod, but the base is another matter. I got a three-socketed

Legend Spike, but with irrelevant bonuses to skills. Apart from that, very few trades ever happen.

What are you guys running in your hex: purge / echoing strikes warlocks? Eventually I'll have to make a Void for the chronicle, but is it worth it? I was using a

Tomb Reaver for the MF, but I guess that won't be great anymore

Obsession \ Arioc \ Mang \ Ondals i think. Void is a good call, but there is not even good bases available for trade listed publically

Nova apoc, but Obsession is great too (and way easier to complete the rest of the build with)

For

Echoing Strike WL, I use Insight. High damage, Fcr, attack rating boost,

Critical Strike, mana regen. Yes you can get theoretically slightly higher damage with Fortitude or ariocs, but at least on P1, not worth the quality of life loss IMO.

Once you factor in the

Critical Strike and AR boost, actual damage might be close to even, but I haven’t done the calc

Abyss/+2 Demon which is my Void candidate for now but I'm holding out for +3

Abyss/+3 Demon before I burn my remaining

Zod. I'm currently running Obsession so I'm in no big hurry

I've been debating the same. Having +3

Bind Demon might help me avoid having to continuously swap out another item for the demon prebuff (+5 total

Bind Demon / +2

Demonic Mastery), but in the end a Mang Song wiuld provide a bigger buff (+5/+5). So I'm now thinking any +3

Abyss +X Miasma Chains (Comsume would also be a good one). I would assume a perfect roll on a base like that would fetch a nice pricetag!

Hex Siphon is a great idea. Do you find you are killing enough monsters before your demon does?

Nothing prevent you to use it as a melee weapon to apply hexes to enemies. Your Warlock is so weak and cannot hold

Miasma Chain Warlock's perspective the question is Void vs Obsession, imo.
Void has more damage, but Obsession wins because of huge allres.

Void is interesting, because it allows Phoenix shield, but the resist problem still persists.

Other option would be Spirit, but

Ars Dul'Mephistos is way better damage-wise, and if you use book, you can just use Obsession.

I have maxed resists, 125 fcr and 6-frame recovery with Void. Based on the extra skills on it, it can save between 2 and 6 skill points as well.

With Obsession I have maxed resists, 125fcr, 6-frame recovery, extra 400 life and deal 80% damage of what I could do with Void.

In the end, with Void you have to work for it in terms of equipment to be the top dawg, but when you do, you become one.
Also noone would be a fool enough to use anything but

Ars Dul'Mephistos. That thing beats everything else.

Boots for damage, but I personally have decided to go with

War Traveler for the 50 MF to get my chronicle progress going. I only have 67 dex. So, my Void is in a

Kris, best base imo with no drawbacks.

Have +40 dex from perfect charms, +45 if you go with mara's.
Spend 20-25 stat points on strength to wear perfect dex

Wraithstep which gives +15 dex. You are now at +55-60 dex for a total of 75-80 incl. the 20 base. You are still missing 8 dex with perfect gear on

Cinquedeas, 6 dex for

Fanged Knife and 17 extra to wield a

Stiletto.
You can't count the +8-12 dex you are getting from Void because you can't equip it without already having enough dex, and when you do have enough that +8-12 dex you get from it is completely wasted anyway for caster build, unless you go for max block build.
