Is that actually true? The only reason why I am skeptical is because D2 is a masterpiece and so many people enjoy it. Sad if the devs not only feel differently but also refuse to play lol.Semirotta wrote: 2 weeks agoThey fix the bugs they know how to, balance things they know how to. True in the sense that some extremely annoying bugs have been around since day 1 and have yet to get addressed in any way whatsoever and in the sense that RotW in multiple ways just made things worse instead of better as far as bugs are concerned.ghostpos wrote: 2 weeks agoIs that actually true? Still beats most other games overall though, seeing how the base design from 25+ years ago is rock solid. (Persistent balance issues aside..blizz has just never been good at that part across many of their games)
Anywho, if someone's idea of "fun" is "has to be absurdly insanely OP in every way so I don't have to ever try or gear up or do anything" and they end up complaining over losing some of said "fun" in a set of more than justified (and in many ways still not sufficient) nerfs, I'm all for them losing "fun".
I dont know if its true but thats how it feels like. From time to time the changes they do really reflects to me they do not play the game. I dont claim it to be a fact, its just what ive heard and how I personally feel about the devs from their changes.ghostpos wrote: 2 weeks agoIs that actually true? So I tested this on the HCL walk that was planned this past Sunday. Not naked though. And I had a bound Blunderbore, not a Fallen
I started playing HCL on Friday evening, using mostly self-found gear (someone did gift me a low-rolled Hellwarden's Will though, but other than that I had only self-found things). Managed to kill dclone 100% safely and even helped others with 10+ kills altogether. Didn't time the kills, but it was probably slightly over one minute on p2 (when assisting others).
Just spam Miasma Chain, and run around a little if needed until it starts "procing" (you can tell when his HP starts dropping significantly faster - the angle seems to matter a lot), then just stand there and refresh chains as needed.

I'm in CET (Central European Time)
My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.
My profile says Softcore, but I play both Softcore and Hardcore.
My Holy Grail Tracker is for Offline Hardcore.

Did you use prevent monster heal or did you just drop his HPs so fast his heal couldn't keep up?ShadowHeart wrote: 5 hours agoSo I tested this on the HCL walk that was planned this past Sunday. Not naked though. And I had a bound Blunderbore, not a Fallen![]()

He can't heal in frames in which he takes dmg. And since chains/clouds stack up like crazy to cover more and more frames, you don't have much healing left to worry about.
No PMH, OW, poison or other regen-preventing shenanigans needed, just Miasma Chain (and an Abyss here and there but not technically needed).Rhaegar86 wrote: 53 minutes agoDid you use prevent monster heal or did you just drop his HPs so fast his heal couldn't keep up?
The thing is - when you play online, any damage done to a monster stops their regen for 8 frames (the frame the damage was dealt + 7 frames after). Thus, any tick rate based damage inherently stops regen, as long as you keep it up. But any attacks that you can reliably lash out at a rate of 8 frames per attack or faster is good enough without any special regen-prevention.
(offline, however, damage done to a target only stops their regen for a single frame, the frame on which the damage took place)
If you've never heard of this, you can check Pavke's excellent write-up about it on Reddit from two years ago:

(it was even confirmed to work the same in D2:LoD - as in, not D2R)

I will definitely be trying this out on the 2 scheduled SCNL walks this week. Now that I have discovered how to properly use CtA with my warlock (thanks to you) it should not be much of a fightShadowHeart wrote: 45 minutes agoNo PMH, OW, poison or other regen-preventing shenanigans needed, just Miasma Chain (and an Abyss here and there but not technically needed).Rhaegar86 wrote: 53 minutes agoDid you use prevent monster heal or did you just drop his HPs so fast his heal couldn't keep up?
