Only Chaos fire warlock will have enough spare points to bind super-uniques now. And he's the only one who doesn't really need one at all, now that Conviction is gone. Ironic.

In another thread people said that now you should hold the skill Key for some seconds (instead of keep pressing the skill Key)
Since you're getting the "I can't" message without even channeling, odds are you simply don't have 20 hard points in Bind Demon which (since this patch) you need to have in order to bind super uniques.

Really the only ones that can't easily afford it are some eldritch builds which can generally still bank off of 1 pt at least to snag a curse-monkey.

As long as your Fire or Magic Warlock does not have a Sunder, a Cursed Fanaticism Demon helps to kill immune monsters. But as soon as you carry a sunder, I prefer a Cursed Holy Freeze Demon for better crowd control to fight strong heralds.
20 hard points are not needed, 20 soft points are enough, you just have to bind several monsters until you hit Holy Freeze. The bound Demon has not as much life as Lister or Hepho and cannot solo Ubers but such a bound demon is still very tanky. To get 20 soft points I have some special Bind Demon gear.

Probably best to get the immune pit lord for either chaosman, as pure tank for ubers. Haven't tried, if hephasto can facetank Lilith or the buffed ancients.
