I was farming the countress but she only drop low level runes like

Thul, are there any location by any chance, easy to farm high level runes ?

cow lv is your choice.

But however, it is questionable which will be faster , like you run countress vs cow lv drop.

Ist in 30 minute run, but countress, it is likely 30-60 rune. also there is trend low rune is decline each day, you need to hurry before it fall into Ground.

Ist worth

Perfect Amethyst. However it is outliner.

I would add

Travincal as a good farming spot. Especially if you are (or are willing to build) a horker Barbarian for it. The council drops runes quite regularly along with other stuff. I haven't had time to try the horking way myself yet, but even without it feels about equal to countess in terms of runes, or at least 2/3. And with a higher ceiling for HR.

The abundance of

Gold can be used on gambling rings and amulets which can be worth a lot sometimes (dual leech rings, skiller amulets)

its more fun to farm Cows /

Chaos Sanctuary /

Travincal for runes and chance for items / bases is also better

cow lv is best place because of kills. (HR)

trav is different, it is worst rune produce among cow,countess(count the time, I guess it is only 1/3 effective vs countess). However, the total profit is different. If you regular produce

Perfect Gems and sell it, trav is currently best profit area. Due to

Perfect Gems is much higher value than low runes.

Gold , average price is around 1 perfect gem every 1-2m

Gold. Better not count this.

Overall, trav is best profit area with very low rune drop vs others.

I can give you a couple tips for high runes: Cows and Trav - and use your horker Barbarian to double dip a chance to get a rune.

Honestly, the easiest way to get high rune:
#1 - Do not cube anything over

Lem unless you are desperate.
#2 - Trades. I started with 2

Burning Essence of Terror and 8 Keys of

Terror and worked my way up to an Enigma in less than 2 days. I traded the essence for runes, traded the keys for tokens, traded the tokens and runes for Mid-High runes, and then went from there.
#3 - Horking Trav and cows, or running a

Lightning Fury Javazon in cows (actually a super cheap setup to get your Javazon online for Hell cows.
#4 - Hell countess can drop up to an

Ist, tho uncommon, anything

Ko and up is very useful.

Tal/

Ral/

Ort/

Thul/

Sol are all used in crafting as well. Cube socket a

Monarch and trade it off for an

Ist for the cost of 2 mid runes and a pgem. You can do this with ethereal polearms, ethereal merc armor,

Archon Plate,

Mage Plate. Socket up those finds and throw them on a trade.

And lastly - just play the game. I found 2

Ber and 2

Jah naturally in just the last 6-8 weeks or soish. One countess run, I found a

Mal in the chest outside. I found an

Ist killing the ghosts inside (ghost family of mobs has a higher drop rate for runes), and then got another

Mal from Countess in the same run. Another run i found a

Ber in the Tower on the way to countess, and she dropped a

Pul and

Um for me.

It's just a numbers game. You kill enough shit and you'll get high runes, trades will get you there quicker imo than trying to farm for a

Jah, for example.

Eth etc). Now it's much higher, sometimes 100 or over. Same amount of buyers, more sellers.

The thing is with countess on Hell anyway you can get

Terror keys and easily shift them. Also there is a chance you can get lucky with higher runes. I think it's the safest bet for most players starting out.

I kept track of my runes this ladder season and the clear winner is just

Terror zones, so I'd say; get your char over lvl 85 and start farming tz straight up. If the tz is bad like

Blood Moor or burial Ground use a worldstone and hope the next zone in rotation is good, you will find your stones faster than you use them unless you get too picky with what you are willing to farm, and even then chances are you are gonna find them while clearing the acts that you terrorize.

Travincal, cow and

Chaos Sanctuary are probably your best options after that but besides cs imo the tradeoff of not finding tc87 items is not worth it.
tldr; run terrorzones and terrorize acts.

Key. It took a total of 43 runs to get a

Key which is on the slower than average side for me. I did however get a number of lower level runes I still hadn't reach 99 on, and she also dropped a

Pul and a

Mal. There really is no perfect rune farming location. The highest non TZ Countess rune drop is capped at

Ist. The benefit of farming

The Countess is that Keys of

Terror are desirable, 3 keys will get you 2 X Ists.

High lvl runes can drop anywhere really but the most likely is

The Secret Cow Level
I found a

Ber in there
Also found a

Sur from a random mob one time when heading towards

Mephisto.
Found a

Lo during a Diablo run.
The only runes I have yet to find in the wild is

To answer your question, its more passive farming.
So I spam Countess runs like all day.
1 - you get runes
2 - you get keys you can trade for other keys to get a 3x3 which converts to high runes.
3 - I kill a lot of shit on the way, and can usually find a mid rune or 2 on the way, on average. Mostly focus champ and unique packs, and ghosts. Ghosts have a higher drop rate for runes.
4 - the tower has plenty of armor, weapon racks, and poppables.

I also ran a lot of

You can also Cows, Trav (hork), Kurast super chests (all 3 areas, found my first

Jah in

Kurast Bazaar) and

Chaos Sanctuary.

The trick is not to go out and just go for a

Jah. The trick is to find something you like and or find value in farming. You cld farm

Mephisto for yellow essence and drops and convert those to runes.

Some days I play 12+ hours and get nothing.
Some days I fire it up and 3 minutes later - boom, 2

Mal and a

Ber and a

Shako.

I find more success just "playing the game". If I do cows for 10 hours straight and never find a HR, I'm gonna be discouraged. Once you find "the way" things get less grindy and way more fun.

So by that I mean play what you want wherever you want for however long you want, and with patience it'll happen. I've had so many

Jah at this point, and most are from trades. But I was like you even a few months ago until I finally "got" it: You don't farm for high runes, you play the game how you like, and they will come naturally, or you trade the stuff you farm for the high runes.

Oh, and to fully answer your questions:
I play anywhere from 3 hours to 20 hours a day depending on work schedule and such. I play everyday, some days I may only get an hour in bc I'm swimming in trades. If you include posting trades and running a PSN community (Diabruhs, check my link if interested) then yeah I'd say 3 hours min 20 hours max. All of it was non-TZ. And most of it was honestly in the

Black Marsh. It's a game of numbers. For runes, the game doesn't care what you kill (outside of Countess) the game cares about how much you kill. The

Black Marsh has some of the lowest lvl mobs on Hell difficulty in the game. You can fuck them up with a wet napkin. So, clear out those

Fallen dens, and wipe our the champs and uniques.

Sometimes I run through ACT 1 with a shard and my Moasicsin, but she finds more gems than runes and I find that odd bc my Necro does the same thing and finds more runes than gems. Just the Diablo 2 Lords at work.

To cube up to one single

Ist rune, you would need 472,392

Amn runes.

The upgrade process is extremely steep because it takes 3 of each lower rune to reach

Pul, and then 2 of each from

Pul to

Ist. Here is the breakdown of why 120 Amns doesn't go very far:

120 Amns = 40

Thul
40

Thul = 13

Shael (+1 extra)
13

Shael = 4

Dol (+1 extra)
4

Dol = 1

Hel (+1 extra)

Essentially, 120

Amn runes only gets you as far as one

Hel rune and some leftovers. So It's better to trade 120

Amn for 1

Ist by an extreme margin.

Because of this, cubing low runes into high runes is generally considered a waste of time and gems unless you specifically need a mid-tier rune like a

Lem or

Pul. You are much better off farming

The Countess directly for

Ist drops, as she has a much higher statistical probability of dropping one than you do of finding half a million

Amn runes!

#5 - On ladder I can still get an

Ist for a 4os

Monarch.

So just to clarify:
You aren't getting a

Jah rune for a

Monarch unless its Perf Sup 4os, and maybe even then no. An

Ist tho, for sure.
