I'm not a new player, but have been playing by myself since forever. Not a fan of ladder, either. However, I was interested in helping out / getting help with Larzuk rushes... and I realized I have no idea how they work.
How long does it take? Is it just opening TPs for the low-level character and killing bosses? Who creates the game? And so on

Can be used to make Runewords:

The basic Principle is "it doesn't matter who kills something but someone who is eligible for the quest needs to be nearby".
For a socket rush (=reduced rush, no other quests):
- The person being rushed (random new lvl 1 char) makes a game to make sure the quests are available.
- The rusher (you/the high lvl helping) joins said game
Act 1:
- Rusher teleports straight to Andariel and opens a TP for the rushee. Once the lowbie entered the portal and is down there, rusher kills Andariel, both move on to act 2.
Act 2:
- Optional: rusher teleports to cube, clears room (so lowbie doesn't die ^^), opens portal next to cube chest, lowbie comes down and grabs cube. Alternatively, rusher simply drops his own cube in town for the rushee to save time (you'll get a new cube in act 3 trav anyways)
- Rusher teleports down to maggot lair for staff, opens portal for rushee
- Rusher teleports to viper temple, opens portal for rushee
- Rusher teleports to summoner, opens portal for rushee, kills summoner after rushee is down there (quest credit is needed to take portal down to tomb, otherwise the rushee has to run it from canyon wp)
- Rusher teleports into tomb and to the staff socket, opens tp, rushee comes down and places staff in socket, both go into Duriel's chamber, rusher kills Duriel
Act 3:
- Rusher teleports to chest in Spider Cavern, opens tp so rushee can grab body part
- Same thing for flayer dungeon lvl 3
- Same thing for sewers lvl 2
- Rusher teleports to trav, opens safe portal for rushee close to council before killing council (much like summoner in act 2, credit is needed for TP access, otherwise rushee has to run from trav down to meph)
- Rushee grabs last piece off the dead council, smashes orb and goes back to town
- Rusher teleports down to Mephisto, makes a TP for rushee and kills meph once rushee is down there
Act 4:
- Rusher teleports straight into CS, clears everything, opens safe TP for rushee to take before killing diablo
Ac5:
- Rusher opens TP near shenk, rushee zones in, rusher kills shenk
Done.
Once you're used to it, it really doesn't take too long.
There are some bypassing shenanigans you can do (mainly in a3) but i'll leave those out as they're typically not worth the effort.
If you rush multiple people at once, only one of them needs to be close to the bosses/council/... to get credit. The others will then get the quest even while standing in town.

A3
A3 restart game, high lv player open
port to hate, kill all way back to trav, portal
low lv player walk from trav to hate portal.
restart game, low lv player open
port to hate, kill boss..
this only works on people knows how to walk from trav to hate, need team work. save like 4 min.

Please be aware, all my trade is in non ladder d2r. Not warlock.
And if you'd like to give it a try with someone who can guide you through the process, feel free to add me. Can guide you through each step if anything is unclear. And could use a couple sockets atm.
That's the shenanigans i left out. If you know what you're doing as the rusher, just going through A3 without all of that is just as fast (or faster) and doesn't require any game cycling.leox wrote: 2 hours agoA3

if you don't mind me getting into the conversation, I am also interested in learning how to rush. I'd love to be helpful

i paid Ist for yesterday for first ever socket quest rush. took about 10 mins. I was impressed by the speed and efficiency of someone who's good at it.
You are right for two people that are not familiar. The method I mention need to know the map. Or I may say, it is for one people open 2 character.Schnorki wrote: 2 hours agoThat's the shenanigans i left out. Back to your guideline, I think it will be good if people build up team to rush together. It will something like I rush once and return favor. Organize a time, then you run once, other 7 help you the other day. 1 rush 8 quest done.
It will be good in rotw because there are still many player there.

Super helpful, tyvm!
This is not correct. I just learned this myself recently. I've been doing it wrong for a long time. When they changed that you had to smash the orb to get the durance tp's, it wasn't that they added that in addition to being there when the council died. Instead, they replaced the council quest with the smashing orb quest to gain the ability for durance tp's. So you don't need the council quest at all. The rusher can go in and kill the council unaccompanied and then make a tp and have the rushee come in and grab the Flail, cube it, and smash the orb. This is really nice in HC as this was the most hairy part of rushing.Schnorki wrote: 2 hours agoAct 3:

Did they? Admittedly, I haven't specifically re-tested that in..well, probably a decade. ^^pyropy wrote: 15 minutes agoThis is not correct. I just learned this myself recently. Makes it even easier then I guess.
Yeah, I even went back and looked at the release notes and it states exactly that. But it was hard-coded in my brain to do it that way.
