Sure, but there's a big difference - to convert them to RotW, you need to do this 871 times:
Click Create New, change the Game Version dropdown to Expansion, pick a class, give the character a name, click Create, click Play, open stash, click Shared, click Previous Season checkbox, choose a tab, grab one anni, save and exit, click Convert to RotW, click Play, open stash, click Shared, choose a tab, put the anni inside, save and exit, click Delete, hold down the mouse button on the Yes button. Rinse and repeat. I timed it at about 45 seconds per, that's almost 11 hours of very monotonous & repetitive clicking. It can probably be done faster, but can one keep that pace for over 10 hours? Doubt it.

At the very least it won't be as monotonous to do this little guessing game - and there are tools like spreadsheets to assist. But sure, it will take a lot of time & effort as well

Uh, well, I killed dclone 871 times during a single ladder season. Actually, I probably killed dclone well over to 1000 times altogether that season, I did trade a bunch of them (unidentified), just not not sure how many, and I also helped a lot of people with their dclone kills.

Correct, there's no penalty for getting one wrong. You still need to choose which stat combos (up to 50) to guess on.

Aha I see, also now I noticed that you wrote already in the original post that they all were unid! That means they can be considered randomly distributed after all, and what I assumed as the biggest obstacle to my strategy was actually never an issue.

That's an impressive track record, either way! Do you have a ballpark guess on how many Dclones you killed per walk on average? I don't know how many walks typically happen during a single season.

I don't ever hunt for annis in public games, but I do have 3 accounts (which should be obvious looking at the screenshots in the OP - they're hidden in a spoiler section in case you didn't notice), so exactly 3 per walk. I mean, unless I lost one or two due to connection issues or not being fast enough to create games before a walk. I didn't catch all the walks so I could have had even more, theoretically - for example, I completely skipped the 3 cloneageddon events that were hosted on Americas region during the night for me (cloneaggeddon = a walk every 15 minutes for 6 hours straight), that would have been an additional 225 annis. There were 4 such cloneaggedon events during the holidays, only one was at an EU friendly time.
