For me at least, yes, but I can't explain why.
And I have other friends that feel the same.
I really appreciate what blizz tried to do but... I dont feel to play it anymore - not right now.
What about you?

Can be used to make Runewords:

New stash tabs are very useful. Filter is helping. Great improvements.
Warlock is too strong but he will get nerfed.
Heralds and sunder system is stupid but it will get changed.
Overall, I'm fine. There is new life to this game after years of drought

Agreed, overall improvements and it seems like there will be rebalancing and correcting of bugged skills.mikelessar wrote: 2 hours agoNew stash tabs are very useful. Filter is helping. Great improvements.

If they implement at least most of the changes they test on the upcoming PRT (like the announced changes in the Sunder and Statue merchanics as well as the WL nerfs and fixes) I think the game will improve significantly "back to the roots"
I for my part am currently confident that things will get better
After a 20 year break from D2 I started playing D2R in 2024 with my sons (9 and 10 years old)

It has changed since RoTW, I agree but I still enjoy it as much as when I played this as a kid.
With the much needed QoL improvements like the Gems, Materials & Runes stash & the graphics overhaul makes it much more enjoyable.
Idk if I would ever play Diablo 2 again with the old graphics & without those QoL improvements.
Also a website like this Diablo2.io makes it alot more pleasant.
Heaps of information at your fingertips, a forum with an awesome community to communicate with if you have any questions regarding the game or to help you out.
A trade market. a Dclone Tracker. a TZ Tracker. What else?! Idk!
Just love this site.
I just hope they don't somehow kill the game in the near future with a patch or with over monetizing it someway , somehow.

I will say, the "forced fomo" of statue rotations combined with the "can't leave, locked in, no trading or quickly helping others or anything" of having to keep your shard game and Herald progress alive did indeed severely impact my enjoyment of the game. And certainly not in a positive way.
Luckily, the upcoming changes drastically reduce if not entirely remove all of that again. Hell, just knowing those changes are coming mostly solved it for me as I can't be bothered to stress over it now when it is about to become more relaxed again anyways.

Will buy any 3 minor keys for an Ist - message me.
Will accept keys instead of rune payments for my trades.

The old D2R still there, you can play D2R exp, it still not changed anything.
if you arent go trade , just play the way you want to be, it should be same. You can play rotw or d2r exp.
some way they are success. Make everyone play one class only, and if nerf, all unhappy , not moving back previous class ...
They should just release another DLC, leave warlock unchange. nerf does not move things better.

Please be aware, all my trade is in non ladder d2r. Not warlock.

I think I would enjoy it much more if also the online Terror-zones would be known days in advance like the offline ones.. that way I would not have to check every 45min
Mine, too!Knappogue wrote: 2 hours agoYou summed up my feelings perfectly.Schnorki wrote: 2 hours agoI will say, the "forced fomo" of statue rotations combined with the "can't leave, locked in, no trading or quickly helping others or anything" of having to keep your shard game and Herald progress alive did indeed severely impact my enjoyment of the game. P.S. Get out of my head. Thank you.
I just have no incentive now to hunt for statues or Heralds for the Latent Flame Rift knowing it will be changed.
We have to wait to see how it will pan out.
My Holy Grail - holygrailtracker.php?user_id=106606
I will go the same way - restarting playing and levelled my lock to hell Baal - was fun
And now time to try Uber Tristram and Uber ancients with him
(yeah, I am slow, non ladder). So very positive so far, and as for the coming changes, most are welcome here too.

Yeah, I think that is the core issue, they keep adding features that depend or timing, or decrease the need for community, or cooperation. Or worse - they make feel cooperating like losing out on something (farming tzs etc).Schnorki wrote: 2 hours agoI will say, the "forced fomo" of statue rotations combined with the "can't leave, locked in, no trading or quickly helping others or anything" of having to keep your shard game and Herald progress alive did indeed severely impact my enjoyment of the game. They listened to the youtubers too much imo, bc they do not really engage with the community on the same level as the average player. They are usually in a detached bubble with lots of ppl simping for them, and the game caters into that kind of instead of giving players more stuff like PD2's mapping, or more interesting mid-level runewords etc.
Yes, game keeps getting worse.
Project Diablo 2 does it better. I am thinking about switching to PD2
Just add me on bnet, and ping me if you like my offer
This. Even then, I'm not as focused on playing optimally so, to me, RotW was just a breath of fresh air, even with the flaws. Just the QoL changes made it worth it.Schnorki wrote: 2 hours agoI will say, the "forced fomo" of statue rotations combined with the "can't leave, locked in, no trading or quickly helping others or anything" of having to keep your shard game and Herald progress alive did indeed severely impact my enjoyment of the game. I like a lot of the new additions to the game such as rune and gem stacking, loot filter, running Uber ancients, and the chronicle is amusing albeit a contributor to compulsive behavior. The Warlock needs some readjustment to make it feel a little less like a walk-through and more of a challenge. Running Herald's for latent sunders and TZ act bosses to get statues can be a little fatiguing, because you will get some act boss TZs repeatedly, and others sparingly. Once PTR runs its course and the bugs are all flushed out I think things will perk up some. No I don't think the game is ruined, I see it as a work in progress.
The Herald thing especially, because if you left and had to build all the way back up to Herald of Terror (and in it's present state is a VERY big if), it just feels like a slog in it's current form.Schnorki wrote: 2 hours agoI will say, the "forced fomo" of statue rotations combined with the "can't leave, locked in, no trading or quickly helping others or anything" of having to keep your shard game and Herald progress alive did indeed severely impact my enjoyment of the game. Now the only I'd maybe say in heralds is remove Thorns as an option so we're not messing with melee characters just for existing. (the reason it's not in the aura enchanted pool in the first place, and why obilvion knights had Iron Maiden removed from their pool of curses.)
As for Warlock, is it really nerfs if a skill wasn't working as intended? (*cough* Echoing Strike *cough*)

Herald Thorns is low enough to where lifetap effectively outheals and hence overwrites it.
So as long as you can fit drac's or the like into your build (and get them to proc) heralds are fine for melee as well.
Well, except for the random moon lord ones that crit for upwards of 6k..that'll just Smoke nearly every melee build no matter what. Thorns is the least of your worries there.
Huh, always thought it was the same as normal and not a special variant (haven't really played melee since lock came out and didn't want to chance it).Schnorki wrote: 1 hour agoJust fyi:Drakenden wrote: 1 hour ago[..]

As for moon lords, extra fast moon lords are a firm nope, especially if they also rolled Fanaticism.
Herald Thorns is a bit weird...Drakenden wrote: 1 hour ago[..]

It is apparently (per Pavke) a significantly lower level on heralds than it would be if it was just part of the normal aura pool on another mob of the same lvl.
The weird thing is, mathematically, it should still not quite work out with just Life Tap, even with the penalties applied, unless you also have >21% leech (after possible penalties) on top of that. And yet, somehow, it does work just fine for both, my barb and his merc.
Though it still feels unnecessarily limiting to have Thorns and to force melee into Life Tap when ranged has no such forced choice and when melee is already at significantly higher risk anyways, thanks to being unable to truly avoid taking those 6k+ swings by any measure other than pure dumb luck.
I have loved D2 since the day it came out (loved D1 even before that), and I can confidently say that I love it even more nowadays. I don't think they have ruined a thing.
