Keep in mind that you really don't need weapon damage, thanks to the skill not only providing ED but base damage on top of that, in itself making up for missing weapon damage which is aided by further skill points instead.
As a result, something like an Obsession build not only gives you massive damage despite basically none on the weapon but it also gives you insane overall stats very easily (5 frame FHR, max cast rate, way over-capped resistances to make up for -res on Conviction/ubers, preserving dual leech and so on, all while sticking to Enigma for the travel speed).
You can quite easily push that to right around a million DPS overall without sacrificing anything on the survivability or travel speed side of things.

Can trade on LoD, RotW, and Ladder/Non-Ladder
In the comment to the video MrLlamaSC mentions that though he tested Warlock pre-release, some things may have slipped through - though this may be a recent bug in damage calculation.

There are way too many insanely OP lock builds for which the math perfectly maths out to blame some random recent dmg calc bug.

He was talking the Echoing Strike specifically, not the whole Warlock class in general. As for Echoing Strike, the only thing that doesn't necessarily math about that is that the synergies don't just bump up the ED bonus but also the base damage which isn't specifically mentioned so COULD be considered a bug. But even if that wasn't the case, it'd still be completely and utterly broken. Removing that would leave you with a skill that maths exactly as it should and while it would be somewhat weaker, it wouldn't be anywhere near enough to fix..
(And that's not even optimized)
Saw this post and decided to try out Insight and at 125 fcr, even with half the charsheet dmg, everything still melts very fast and I get to Teleport insainly fast. very good idea.

I have been using a godly rolled Insight since the beginning and nothing else makes sense. No potions when teleporting from Meditation. 35fcr whether going for the 125 breakpoint or to easily get to 75fcr. Level 6 Critical Strike is 46% crit strike. Remember everyone, the 5000ish damage from Echoing Strike adds right on to your weapon. So having a weapon with an extra 300 max damage isnt really a big deal when added to that 5000 damage. That's why arioc's is so good with low damage. Don't think that the Thunder Maul Fortitude damage is so great. It only has 20% deadly strike while Insight has 46% Critical Strike. WAY BETTER.
Well, sad reality is damage output makes absolutely no difference unless you're doing high player count endgame content, because ES is just broken.
Naked, no merc, no minions Warlock one-shoting TZ monsters with Wirt's Leg was best example.
However Meditation for Teleport is good argument. At this point any kind of QoL/unique effect is a tie-breaker.

Arioc's = 4 skills to demon mastery
Doom = freeze + 2 skills to demon mastery
Obsession = 4 skills to demon mastery, resists, life, fhr, little mf, easy 125 fcr, (also boring because any warlock can use this and fire/magic is a better fit)
Tomb Reaver = mf and resists
BotD = nothing
Death = nothing
That's really it.

That's why on SCL i run with Pskull Ondal's Wisdom (which I mentioned in other topic yesterday).
Has those nice skills and fcr and since no tele-spam without Enigma, mana leech is enough. And obv you won't get exp multiplier anywhere else.
