Description

Looking for feedback on who has played the
Echoing Strike
and Fire Warlock.
Any feedback is appreciated.

I currently have an
Echoing Strike
one but before I respec I was looking for some feedback.
Related to playstyle and feeling of the build(s).
Play bnet on players 1 most of the time.

Found some articles online but prefer to have some more feedback and created a summary of it.

Summary – Endgame Fire vs.
Echoing Strike
(Warlock)
The discussion focuses on whether
Echoing Strike
(ES) is stronger than the Fire Warlock in endgame content, especially for HC single player and p8 farming.
Overall conclusion
Both builds are strong, but their performance heavily depends on your gear level:

Low / budget gear:
Echoing Strike
is much stronger.

Fully geared endgame:
→ Fire Warlock is at least equally strong, and often even better, especially in terms of clear speed.

Key
insights from the comments
1.
Echoing Strike
is extremely powerful, even with cheap gear

Several players describe ES as “ultra OP”, comparable to Mosaic Assassin.
ES performs exceptionally well with just an Insight polearm, giving you infinite mana.
ES has very high damage output even with minimal gear investment.

2. Fire Warlock remains amazing when fully geared

Fire has massive AoE, smoother gameplay, and better tankiness and
Teleport
feel.
A well‑geared Fire Warlock can clear Ubers without gear swaps.
With top gear (e.g., Mang Song + Phoenix), Fire handles p8 content easily.

3. Playstyle differences

Some players find Fire more enjoyable and fluid.
ES can feel less intuitive at first, and requires some know‑how to maximize its damage—but becomes extremely powerful once mastered.
ES tends to kill bosses faster, especially when using a
Fanaticism
‑bound demon.

4. Additional points

Abyss
Warlock is also mentioned as strong and very safe.
ES can “1‑click” entire packs on p1.
ES combined with
Blade Warp
provides mobility that feels “almost like Enigma” in certain zones.

Final advice from the discussion
Since you’re in HC single player, working toward level 99:

Respeccing to ES is definitely worth trying — it’s powerful, cheap, and fast.
However, if you already enjoy Fire and have high‑end gear, then Fire is not worse, and in some scenarios even better.

For me: fire is super fun but requires fire sunder to not get caught out by immunities.
Abyss
was easier to see what was happening on screen but kill rate ended up too slow by comparison. ES is mad overpowered and tackels even T5 heralds with use of lethargy sigil.

With Insight polearm and Spirit shield, tES achieves 125 fcr without problem, and teleporting at 9 frames. Mobility is not a problem. In any case it is extremely tanky, getting around 3000 health after buffs.

I have not played
Echoing Strike
warlock but i have played exclusively a fire warlock up to 95 offline.

My fire warlock has Flickering Flame, Phoenix, Obsession, Enigma - no sojs, no skillers, no anni, but he does have a torch.

I love the playstyle. I always play on p8 (except when I do ubers) and have 0 issues clearing the entire game.
Baal
can take a bit on p8 with fire, but everything else dies very quickly.
Echoing Strike
definitely does more damage, but the
Apocalypse
playstyle is very comfortable, not spammy at all and EXTREMELY tanky.
I have 4200 hp with
Battle Orders
from Call To Arms and max resists because of Obsession.

I like the way it looks, i like the way it plays, i like how my fingers feel after a play session because it is not spammy at all, and it's extremely powerful.

I have also done ubers with 0 issues. I have also done t5 heralds on p8 with fire with 0 issues because hephaesto is such a powerful tank.

Currently playing SSF Offline only
95 Javazon - 94 fire ball sorc - 91
Frenzy
barb
91
Dragon Tail
assassin - 87 hammerdin - 95 fire warlock - 84 Fury druid
Offline milestones achieved: Enigma, Phoenix, Grief, Fortitude, Obsession, Infinity, Death
