Do you keep any minion (or Merc) while searching for a "good

Bind Demon"?

I'm still finishing Hell, I bound a Nightmare

Hephasto the Armorer (with

Fanaticism, but without Cursed

), have an Act 2 Merc and generally have 1

Summon Goatman and 1

Summon Defiler up.

My main goal is finish Hell (so I'm not hunting a new

Bind Demon target), but when a melee Cursed appear, I would like to try to bind it (as I already have

Bind Demon L20+), but just after I perceived that the super is Cursed and Demon, some of my Minions or my Merc already killed it (before I could try to bind it...)

Consume my demon, when i find other one and took weapon of my merc, so he can damage (with me) a little - then easy binding.
(or merc can die - I dont care)

Little bit harder to catch Cursed Hephasto now ...but i have Enigma)

I generally don't have extra summons on my lock anyways. One gets consumed, the other is bind, no third as the skill points are better used elsewhere. But that's highly build dependent of course.

But yeah, I'm not killing off my merc just to bind something. If I need a new Heph, I know where to find him and he's easy enough to snag before your merc wrecks him.

While still playing through that's a bit of a different story I suppose though at that stage, your merc also tends to not yet 1-shot worthwhile bind-targets.

I would always advise to have the

Consume buff up constantly:

Consume a

Goatman for phys damage, a Defiler for magic damage or

Tainted for Fire damage and you also gain massive movement speed and some extra life. It's worth it to drop one living demon minion for this.

At the momment I'm usig "pure summoner": I just run around buffing my minions -

Sigil Lethargy,

Death Mark,

Engorge - and they and Emilio - which benefits from Sigil too - do all the killings

Not a top build, but i think its fun and is doing the job. It's way better than a "pure summoner" necromancer (ie. Just summons and curses). The bound Demon hits like a truck, I have some AoE with

Summon Defiler and

Death Mark direct them to where I need most

Good luck finishing up Hell! Cursed really does make a difference - my killing speed overall is way slower without it, especially as I use Heph to tank/distract mobs.

Death Mark is great for this and it keeps the merc slightly out of trouble too.

FYI there's a few enemies that always spawn cursed and so are a reliable source (in case you die and don't want to hunt/farm). I forget exactly which ones, but Ismail in

Travincal (one of the council) for sure is. There's one in Act 1 catacombs too, just in case Trav is too far/too difficult for you just yet.
