Description
Although I think not everyone likes to talk about the stupid and brainless situations they found themselves in.
Maybe someone will have some interesting stories. I had one that happened.
I play on a laptop and can't always hit the right keys.
So today, instead of sending a link to the item in chat, I threw it out of my inventory.
Naturally it was a torch for Warlock
It was low quality, but I still got it through personal efforts, with runs for keys, killing Ubers, and so on.
Of course, the guy saw my torch fall and immediately grabbed it. He ignored my request to return it, wrote a thank you, and ran away.
It's clear that I'm a fool myself. And It's stupid to think that players have even a shred of self-respect to show reasonableness and not steal something.
In general, don't get into my situation and tell me if anything similar has happened to you?

Quality of life updates have happened and not even once have they thought about adding a warning to pop up when youre about to drop item. Which you could check as "I dont care" or something for that game you are in which would require new agremeent once you enter a new game if you drop items again, otherwise it would always ask are you sure to drop item.Warkotic wrote: 2 weeks agoAlthough I think not everyone likes to talk about the stupid and brainless situations they found themselves in.

It would fix the accidental drops. I would stop playing if id lose a warlock torch most likely, but thats because I cant get them myself and cant buy one as they are so expensive, even low ones.
OP
Well at least, they could give the opportunity to link an item from your chest.Semirotta wrote: 2 weeks agoQuality of life updates have happened and not even once have they thought about adding a warning to pop up when youre about to drop item. Erm... you can link items from your stash? just got to move them up to the stash space so you can open a chat and shift click the item, otherwise its behind the chat box.Warkotic wrote: 2 weeks agoWell at least, they could give the opportunity to link an item from your chest.Semirotta wrote: 2 weeks agoQuality of life updates have happened and not even once have they thought about adding a warning to pop up when youre about to drop item. Normally, accidently dropping a torch is no big deal, because most people carry a torch and can't pick it up. You were really unlucky that this guy had no torch or already put it in stash in anticipation of the trade.
A few years ago I wanted to buy an Enigma and got scammed. He put in the Enigma, I checked it, everything was fine, he suddenly closed the trade window with some non-sense excuse, and then he put some garbage in the trade window that looked like the Enigma. I didn't check it again. Gone were my high runes. You know the trick and I knew it, still fell for it (I guess I was tired or drunk or probably both).

Akways double if not triple check before accepting. There seems to be these days especially a lot of these trade scammers when it comes to ingame trading. I wouldnt trust people there at allmikelessar wrote: 2 weeks agoNormally, accidently dropping a torch is no big deal, because most people carry a torch and can't pick it up. I had the exact same thing happen to me with a Warlock torch yesterday. Except it was not a mistake, it was a scam. I was selling it for 10 Jah, after getting it on my first Uber run. The “buyer” wanted me to show it to him and helpfully told me to ctrl+left click on it to show stats. I instinctually did what he said, even if I am always wary of scammers and even though I knew that was not the right way to do it. I was just tired and in a hurry.
I saw it falling to the Ground in slow motion, anticipating exactly how he would pick it up and leave, while thinking how I became exactly the kind of sucker I used to make fun of. All in the time of half a second
Anyway, that was the end of my D2 Obsession until the next expansion at least.

I'd say my biggest fail is using Principle armour against Uber Baal with my HC FoH smiter, not realizing that 100% CTC Holy Bolt vs his chilling Armour reflect could prove fatal. Level 87 HC FoH smiter.
