Oh man! i was in middle school when the original d2 came out, and I was instantly hooked. So much fun as a kid before learning how to min-max a bit...

I exclusively traded between servers and pvp'd. I didn't even know 99% of the mechanics and never got to enjoy the beauty of a single-player experience. Play totally different today and appreciate it so much more.

I remember when the paladin

Smite animation was accidentally reversed and

Smite looked like this aggressive up and over the shoulder swing followed by a shield crashing downwards on your foe. Then d2r came and they reversed the animation back to what it was supposed to be; a lame normal looking shield boink.

You could only got 1 of each Uniquering in the Game. So if u got a Manald and a Nagel there could only drop a Soj (or just gamble it). Although the Gamble mechanics were just horrible.
Also that Uniques in D2 were without a lvl restriction.
