No. Well, it depends on whether the character is converted to RotW or not. Just having the update or not is one thing, but once you have it, you can convert characters to RotW (it's done manually character-by-character, it's not automatic). RotW characters can only play with other RotW characters (whether they are Warlock or an old class doesn't matter, what matters if the character was made as a RotW character or converted to RotW). If you have the update but leave some characters as non-RotW (not converted), then those can only play with other non-RotW characters.Warkotic wrote: 7 hours agoCan a player with the Warlock update run in the same lobby with a player without the update?
It's the same as non-expansion (D2 without LoD) vs expansion characters, back when they released LoD. And in D2R we still have that pre-expansion toggle for creating a "classic" char. Instead of two types of characters there will now be -
1. pre-expansion
2. legacy D2R
3. D2R:RotW
There are new warlock specific items, daggers are changed (to be able to roll warlock skills, like staffs for sorc skills), etc, it wouldn't make any sense for a RotW character to be in the same game as a non-RotW character. And yes it's been confirmed. If you try to enter a RotW game with a non-RotW character you get an error message.
This also has other consequences - realms are completely separated, so dclone status & walks are also separated.
